Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Navy Veteran Donald “Doc” MacNeil. Doc served during World War II.
Doc served overseas in China and Burma as a pharmacist’s mate from November 1942 to December 1945. After the war ended, Doc returned home to Michigan and graduated from medical school. He became a licensed physician of Osteopathic Medicine.
Doc practiced medicine for 35 years and is known in his hometown of Sandusky, Michigan for delivering thousands of babies. He is the father of six children, including his late son who honorably served in Vietnam. Three of his grandchildren proudly work for the Department of Veteran Affairs.
Today is Doc’s 99th birthday. Happy birthday, and thank you for your service, Doc!
