Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Ed Weintraub.
Ed always wanted to be a Marine and enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1953. After completing boot camp at Parris Island, he later became an instructor at the Infantry Training Regiment at Camp Geiger.
He was sent to Okinawa serving with the 3rd Battalion, 3rd Regiment, 3rd Marine Division. He deployed aboard the USS Telfair to which they were dispatched to the Suez Canal in 1956.
After his enlistment in the Marines, Ed finished up his college education at the University of Florida. He is now retired and has volunteered extensively at the Southeast Valley VA Health Care Clinic in Gilbert, AZ.
Thank you for your service, Ed!
