In partnership with the World War I Centennial Commission (WWICC), Vocalist John Brancy and Pianist Peter Dugan are taking part in our national remembrance of one of America’s forgotten wars.
It’s “a one-of-a-kind experience that transports audiences in a manner unlike any museum exhibition or concert program I have seen,” said World War I Centennial Commission Executive Director Dan Dayton.
The performers will be accompanied by a visual design of the forthcoming WWI Memorial to be built in Washington DC’s Pershing Park, a 100-year-old journey to recognize our veterans in our capital. Brancy and Dugan hope to play a small part in promoting this important memorial through their premiere interpretation of music from WWI.
The artists launched their tour in September at Wentz Hall in Napervillle, Illinois presented by the First Division Museum and McCormick Foundation at Cantigny Park, and continue their tour with dates at University of California Irvine Nov. 7; the US Army Heritage and Education Center Nov. 9; The Smithsonian Institute Nov. 10; and the Kennedy Center Nov. 12.
