We’re in the final countdown to the 2019 Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Innovation Experience (iEx), taking place October 22 and 23. For those attending or streaming the event live, the ideas and solutions are even bigger and bolder than last year’s event.

A new VA program is helping to fulfill one doctor’s purpose of delivering compassionate and effective care to Veterans at Central Virginia VA Health Care System. Dr. Jarrod Reisweber and colleagues created Transcending Self Therapy to improve substance abuse treatment for Veterans.

At the VHA Innovation Experience, Oct. 22 and 23, VA will release the first ever VHA State of Innovation Report. The report will give Veterans and the public an in-depth look at just how innovation is affecting their lives.

Home Based Primary Care, or HBPC, is a health care program unique to VA that offers primary care to patients in their home.

The role of innovation is to make change real, personal, and accessible to Veterans wherever they live or receive care. It’s also a major goal of the October 22 and 23 VHA Innovation Experience (iEx). Participants will see and experience for themselves how innovation is reaching Veterans and changing their lives.

Both the promise and reality of innovation will be on full display when 80 Veterans Health Administration (VHA) employees from across the country demonstrate their innovative practices at the VHA Innovation Experience (iEx), October 22 and 23 in Washington, DC.
