As the year winds down, we at VA are taking a moment to reflect on the work that VA’s public servants have done in 2022 to fulfill our mission to serve Veterans and their families, caregivers and survivors as well as they have served our country.

On August 10, 2022, President Biden signed into law the Honoring our PACT Act of 2022. Section 804 of this law is the Camp Lejeune Justice Act of 2022 (CLJA), which allows new lawsuits for people exposed to contaminated water at Camp Lejeune.

VA’s efforts to highlight these media outlets are part of the newly launched VA Radio Outreach initiative led by the Veterans Experience Office. The heart of the initiative is VA’s internally recorded public service announcements (PSAs) on services, benefits and programs that benefit Veterans.

So during this holiday season and throughout the year, Challenge America, which believes Veterans and their family members deserve the very best, takes a moment to thank our Veterans for their service, sacrifice and dedication.

The Elizabeth Dole Foundation is now accepting applications its Dole Caregiver Fellowship and Untold Story Challenge. Both opportunities give Veteran caregivers and children a voice.

Onward to Opportunity is a free career training program providing professional certification and support to service members, Veterans and military spouses.

Luis Acosta, a member of Bridge My Return (BMR), a tech-enabled hiring platform exclusively for the military community—Veterans, transitioning service members, guard/reserve members, military spouses, Veteran spouses and caregivers.

Team RWB is looking for Veterans to participate in a research study on post-service health and fitness experience and how technology supports the journey. Selected participants will receive a $100 Amazon gift card.

VA is increasing compensation payment rates based on the latest cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) announcement. Beginning Jan. 1, 2023, Veterans and beneficiaries who receive VA compensation benefits will see an 8.7% increase in their monthly payments -- the largest increase in over 30 years.
