WASHINGTON — The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced today it will lease a new state-of-the-art clinic for the veterans of Broward County.

VA’s lease on the current 20-year old-clinic on North Dixie Highway expires in February.  VA will move the clinic temporarily to space nearby while the new clinic, built to VA’s specifications, is constructed.

“We assessed many options, and the best alternative with the least disruption in medical service is to build a new clinic,” said Tim McClain, VA’s General Counsel.

VA operates medical centers at Bay Pines, Miami, Tampa, and West Palm Beach, and two medical divisions at Gainesville and Lake City, which comprise the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System.  Primary care is also provided at 25 community-based outpatient clinics located throughout the state.
