WASHINGTON – An independent look at the best places to work in the federal government ranked the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) as the third best federal Cabinet-level department.
“Our veterans are entitled to the best this county has to offer, and that includes the best professional workforce to care for their needs,” said the Honorable R. James Nicholson, Secretary of Veterans Affairs.
Nicholson’s remarks came on the heels of a study by the Partnership for Public Service, an independent organization dedicated to improving government operations. The group’s latest study about working for the federal government was based on 150,000 responses from employees at 250 federal agencies.
Among a listing of the 31 largest federal agencies, VA was ranked 11th overall and the third best federal Cabinet department.
