Battle Creek VA's outreach team crafted a comprehensive communications plan to reach primarily rural Veterans for PACT Act information events.

VA Secretary Denis McDonough is sharing an important message during International Fraud Awareness Week from Nov. 12-18, 2023, to raise awareness and provide Veterans tips to stay safe from predatory behavior of “claim sharks.” Claim sharks are professionals that use aggressive tactics through the mail, telephone and online tools to take advantage of Veterans, their families, caregivers and survivors.

More than 1,000 Veterans attended three-day PACT Act claims clinics in Colorado Springs

Recently, VA joined Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) live on Facebook to discuss PACT Act benefits eligibility, who is impacted and what Veterans need to do now. 

The PACT Act’s special enrollment period deadline is approaching. The law lets Veterans who served in combat zones enroll in VA health care without applying for disability compensation benefits.

280 Veterans were screened for toxic exposures and 400 others were connected with PACT Act-related benefits at the North Texas VetFest.

Fort Meade VA joined in this year’s Sturgis Motorcycle Rally to bring information about the PACT Act to hundreds of Veterans.

Oklahoma City VA, in partnership with VA regional benefits office, Indian Health Services and other organizations, hold tribal PACT Act event.

Veterans were able to ask questions and learn how the PACT Act directly impacted their health care. VBA reps were also present to answer PACT Act related claims questions.

Oklahoma City VA and the Kiowa Tribe held a presumptive claims event for Veterans to learn about eligibility for VA care and other benefits under the PACT Act.
