On Friday, November 10, 2023, there will be a Veterans Day Celebration in Ripley, Lauderdale County, TN. It is organized by the County Mayor’s office and the Lauderdale Chamber. Additionally, the local Post 86 will be participating in the program. The event starts with coffee and donuts at 8am. parade at 10am, a program with speakers in the First United Methodist Church followed by a luncheon for veterans and guests. The local Post 86 will give a presentation about the Post and the American Legion. We hope this will be a good recruiting opportunity. The event will end with many nice door prizes donated from the community.

I can’t find a single event or place to get a free meal on the Big Island of Hawaii. On news.va.gov it only shows 4 veterans day events and they are all on Oahu which is 3 islands away from the Big Island. I can’t just hop on an airplane for $100 to fly to Oahu to celebrate veterans day. Why isn’t there a parade or something or at least a restaurant with free meals in Hilo on the Big Island?

The American Legion post in Kinston NC is having a Veterans Breakfast at Georgia Battle Center on November 8th 2023 starting at 9:AM. It will be take out or eat in and shoot the breeze with other Veterans.
UNITED STATES VIRGIN ISLANDS; 2023 Veterans Day Parade and Ceremonies Announced Across Territory. Participation Information: Organizations keen on being a part of any of the parades can reach out to the Office of Veterans Affairs in their respective districts.
The Office of Veterans Affairs has extended an open invitation to the public for its annual Veterans Day Parades and ceremonies, set to take place in various locations throughout the territory. Detailed information about the events is as follows:
St. John – Sunday, November 5th: Starting at 1pm, the parade will commence at the National Park area in Cruz Bay. Marchers will move forward to the old First Bank location, where they’ll take a right turn directed towards the Cruz Bay dock. From there, the procession will turn right to pass the reviewing stand located at the base of the Bandstand at Frank J. Powell Park. Following this, the parade will continue past the reviewing stand before concluding. The official ceremony is scheduled to occur at the bandstand right after the parade ends.
St. Croix – Saturday, November 11th: Kickstarting at 9am, the procession will originate from the Bassin Triangle in Christiansted. The parade will journey down Kingstreet, passing by the Government House, culminating at the Christiansted bandstand. The subsequent official ceremony will be organized on the National Park grounds next to Fort Christianvaern.
St. Thomas – Saturday, November 11th: Beginning at 3pm, the parade is set to start at the parking area of Emile Griffith Park. The procession will march down Veterans Drive, going past the legislature building. It will then continue past the reviewing stand, which will be situated to the right. The parade will then turn left at the Alexander A. Farrelly Justice Complex and make an immediate left into the Fort Christian Parking Lot, signaling the parade’s conclusion. The official ceremony will unfold at the Veterans Drive Promenade shortly after.
WHAT YOU MISSED!; Registration for both events will take place from Monday, Oct. 23 through Friday, Oct. 27, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. At the time of registration, T-shirts for both events will be issued. The T-shirt will be used as the person’s ticket to enter either event.The Office of Veterans Affairs will host the annual Veterans Appreciation Day events in honor of veterans across the territory.

Registration for both events will take place from Monday, Oct. 23 through Friday, Oct. 27, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. At the time of registration, T-shirts for both events will be issued. The T-shirt will be used as the person’s ticket to enter either event.
People must register individually for the event that they plan to attend. Please RSVP by visiting the office in one’s island district. Phone calls will not be accepted as a form of registration.

As big as Toledo Ohio is I am ashamed that they aren’t honoring veterans in my town it is sad , but then again it is Toledo. Trying to get help here is horrible let alone being honored as a veteran
Not sure who wrote the Veterans Day events for Michigan. But Michigan is ET not CT.
Tucson, AZ will have a Veteran’s Day parade on November 10th from 1100 – 1200.
Jacksonville Florida has the biggest parade in Florida on 11 Nov.

Puerto and the Virgin Islands have a large amount of Veterans, yet wer’e not included . Is there no activities scheduled in the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico?

In listening to my local radio station and reading in the local paper there are events happening for us Veterans. Even a local school is having a dinner for us Veterans, along with various Military organizations such as the VFW. Just keep your eyes open and pass the word to other Veterans.

Your correct but the local government should (El Gobernador) get involved doesn’t do or care about it. So many local businesses give discounts and a free lunch etc. to VETS . Bank give out free services to VETS but not in Puerto Rico. WHY ????
