VA’s Office of Healthcare Innovation and Learning will host its annual VHA Innovation Experience (iEX).
The in-person event will take place Oct. 31 to Nov. 2, 2023, at Capital Turnaround in Washington, D.C. iEX is all about the future of Veteran care and will feature existing innovations while providing the foundations for continued improvement within VA.
iEX 2023 has been reimagined, and it features all-new breakout sessions led by VA change-makers and innovation visionaries with keynote speakers, panels, iEX talks and other events. There will be four themed tracks for breakout sessions: What is VHA Innovation, Mastering Innovation, Training & Education and the Connection Café.
Each day is packed full of networking, engaging panels, speakers and endless inspiration. The goal is to break down barriers and inspire innovative Veteran care solutions with new and dynamic topics for each session.
iEX celebrates Veteran centric innovation
VA Secretary Denis McDonough will kick off iEX to reinforce VA’s commitment to innovative solutions that improve Veteran health care access and experiences.
Participants will hit the ground running with breakout sessions, like the “Workforce Transformation: How VHA is transforming the culture and capabilities of our workforce” and “Intro to Extended Reality (XR): Learning the basics of extended reality and its use in VA.”
Additional sessions will be complemented by Connection Café, an opportunity for innovators to network with attendees, including intrapreneurs featured on the VA Intrapreneurial Product Marketplace.
Day 2 of iEX will start with the Government to Industry Panel, a panel session with representatives from across government discussing how to successfully transition from government innovation to industry standard. Day 2 concludes with the 2023 Diffusion of Excellence Shark Tank Competition. Shark Tank identifies field-developed innovations that promote positive outcomes and improved experiences for Veterans and employees.
