VA partners with Salesforce to support service members and their spouses as they transition into the civilian workforce and strive to advance their careers. The non-monetary partnership facilitated by the National Center for Healthcare Advancements and Partnerships (HAP) provides Veterans access to Trailhead, Salesforce’s online learning platform. It facilitates the development of technology skills, globally recognized certifications and career support benefits.
In collaboration with VA, Salesforce developed several informative and technical learning modules on Trailhead, including a mental health resiliency module. These modules help Veterans and their families learn about available health, financial, educational and career benefits. Trailhead gamifies the learning experience by incorporating engaging lessons, video content and interactive quizzes that allow learners to earn points and badges. This approach adds an element of entertainment to the learning process.
“The gamified learning experience caters to different learning styles and makes the process of acquiring new learning skills enjoyable,” said Christine Eickhoff, HAP health system specialist. “We are thrilled by the enthusiastic response and active participation from Veterans and their spouses to learning more about VA and community resources that support mental health resiliency.”
Completion rate of the module has been outstanding
“HAP is committed to facilitating Veteran-centric partnerships between VA and non-governmental organizations to meet the unique needs of Veterans, their families, survivors and caregivers,” said Chien Chen, HAP chief officer. “We appreciate all our community partners at the national, state and local level. It’s a blessing when Veterans and spouses share their personal success stories regarding the impact of these partnerships.”
Since its launch in July 2022, over 12,500 individuals have completed the mental health resiliency module. The completion rate of the module has been outstanding and the high level of engagement indicates the importance of mental health resiliency resources. The module has received exceptional feedback, affirming its value in equipping service members, Veterans and their families with the skills they need to pursue meaningful careers.
Katherine Clark, head of Salesforce Military, emphasizes the significance of expanding access to mental health resiliency resources. “We’re pleased to widen the access to mental health resiliency through this module on Trailhead, helping people better support service members, Veterans and their families.”
VHA and Salesforce have also developed a module on VA benefits for Veterans, which identifies resources related to economic stability, employment and health literacy. Since 2014, Salesforce has an enrollment of over 55,000 individuals from the military community who have signed up for training to advance their careers in the technology industry. The platform offers details on the diverse range of resources available, including training programs, certifications and educational opportunities. Veterans and military spouses can visit the Salesforce Military homepage for more information on available resources and support.
