On Memorial Day and the days leading up to it, Americans from across the country will gather at cemeteries and memorials to honor and remember the service members who sacrificed everything in defense of our nation and freedoms.
VA is hosting ceremonies in honor of Memorial Day at VA National Cemeteries and invites everyone to join with Veterans and their families at these events taking place on and around Memorial Day weekend.
A full listing of free events at ceremonies and other community Memorial Day events can be found below.
Additionally, many VA national cemeteries are featured at stops along the 20,000-mile relay march organized by Carry the Load, an organization that raises awareness and provides active ways to connect Americans to the sacrifices made by our military, Veterans, first responders and their families.
Those who can’t attend events in person may also honor a fallen service member by leaving a tribute on the Veterans Legacy Memorial site. There you can view Veterans’ stories, decorations and internment locations for each of the 4.5 million Veterans interred at VA national cemeteries, VA grant-funded state, territorial or tribal Veterans’ cemeteries, and certain National Park Service national cemeteries.

Please be advised that for over 40 years, the Town of Durham, NH has conducted an annual Memorial Day Ceremony. It is held at the Veterans Memorial Park on Main Street at 10:00am on Monday of 3-day Memorial Day Weekend. In addition to the singing of the National Anthem, Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address, musical tributes, and laying a wreath at the Veteran’s Monument, appropriate remarks are given by a Senior Military Officer about the significance of this solemn day.
It is requested that Durham, NH be added to the list of Memorial Day events.

It is interesting to see that Vermont has no ceremony to list. I hope that they will have something going on to at least honor their vets. And the city that I currently (at least since 1994) live in, that calls itself “Military City USA, San Antonio, TX, has nothing to list either. San Antonio does things to support illegal aliens, so perhaps it does not wish to offend them.
This article doesn’t list New Hampshire but lists Vermont with nothing following. I find it hard to believe NH really is not offering anything.
