I am glad to see that chipotle is not on the list. Last year I went in and they flatly refused. In fact the manager was very unhappy that i asked about the vet program. Also outback and dennys make changes and then never explain these to vets until they are at the door. Unpatriotic and gross unethical conduct
Not only that but there was no subway in Tampa that would honor veterans. I don’t know if this corporate or franchise but the ones that I went to refused to do anything for veterans.
You should take both od these off of the list so vets are not misled.
I tried to use the Ikea discount yesterday after confirming with their customer service that this offer was for in-store only shopping. Then, I shop at Ikea, go to purchase my items, and come to find out with the management at my Ikea in Minnesota that the discount doesn’t exist. The next day, I contact their customer service and confirm with me that they don’t offer veterans discounts. Next year, I would withhold partnering with Ikea.
I ran into the same problem in Charlotte, NC. Drove almost three hours to take advantage of the discount. Was told it was only applicable in Texas!! Very disappointing. Recommend the VA not advertise with IKEA deals anymore!!
In Hampton Roads Virginia, largest concentration of US military in the world, I do believe, I went to both Subway and Chik Fila for a sandwich on Vets Day yesterday to get a sandwich, and both said they don’t honor vets this way on Veterans Day, even though they are on your list. If a chain only offers in the DC capitols area, why put it on a national list?!

Unfortunately, most of these businesses have either closed in Montana or are not available. The closest area for these places is 40 miles away, others are 9 hours away. I am a USAF veteran, ’67-’71 and to airhead Alan: I believe you got it all mixed upsaying “Trump will Dismantle the Election system”. Aaaah, pardon me but it was person from the Kremlin East, i believe her name is Kamala Harris, an individual who failed her BAR license and is the present VP, who stated she wanted to do away with electorial college and create a voting system based solely on popular vote. that would allow the states New York and California to control all elections. And that is a fact, in addition to make the Supreme Court from 9 Justices to 15, Make Puerto Rico a state which the libs will then have total control. and to Marty Schmidt: Trump”s comment of being a dictator was that he would be that for ONE day to undo everything Joe Biden, the guy who has a son, Hunter with a dishonorable discharge had done on January 20, 2020. Part of Donald Trump’s first day is to close the border and dispose of the thousands of criminals. Oh, and Marty, Biden was never in the military either
There is a lot of places that ate giving us vets a break…it is so cool
The deal advertised above (and shown below) for the The Vitamin Shoppe is NOT correct. I contacted our local store and they advised the offer is 20% for in store or online purchases of $80+
“The Vitamin Shoppe: Veterans and active duty military receive 25% off purchases in-store at The Vitamin Shoppe and Super Supplements from November 11 to 13.”
I salute you all, thank God that this Veterans Service day will be grateful and cheering ceramony. Congratulations to you all
I searched all over 4Patriot’s website and couldn’t find the “Veterans Day Celebration Event page”. Was looking for their “best-selling $29 72-Hour Survival Food Kit for free”.
You people are discussing. It’s not about any president. Be grateful for what you have.
Can’t you people leave politics out of this? Really! This is a day to honor our veterans and military – both living and dead. Has nothing to do with Trump or politics at all. Stop trying to shove your beliefs down everyone else’s throat
Chicken Salad Chick is not honoring what is in the news letter. After waiting in drive thru they said it’s only for dine-in. Which is convenient seeing how they have EXTREMELY limited parking.
They need to honor the advertised news letter, change the ad to more accurately set an expectation, or come off the list completely.
Here’s your text with improved grammar and clarity:
Most people (uneducated, living in rural areas or the “rustic belt”) claim to be patriots, but they don’t pay taxes and depend on government handouts. They also claim to be Republicans, but often without understanding the true meaning of the term. They just want to maintain the status quo because they fear change. The majority of them have never traveled outside their county.
As a result, they see liberals and Biden as socialist communists who will ruin the country. On the other hand, Trump’s supporters often overlook his close ties with Putin and the Russian regime. Trump has been bailed out by Russian oligarchs and, according to some reports, has received financial backing from Putin himself, who, as an oligarch, has amassed a fortune of $200 billion through unethical means.
Under Putin, Russia is an authoritarian regime—some would even call it a dictatorship. Marxist-Leninist socialism is what we are trying to avoid, and yet many Republicans believe this is what liberals are aiming for.
If Trump supporters continue to back him, they are, in effect, supporting a regime that aligns with Marxist-Leninist socialism—a contradiction, given that they see themselves as opposed to that ideology. Once Ukraine falls, the threat to Eastern and Western Europe will only grow.
So how does supporting Trump, who aligns himself with Putin and his authoritarian regime, make someone a Republican? Isn’t that tantamount to treason?
If a restaurant has treated veterans poorly who can they contact?
Not a single Subway. Does a free 6 inch sub. They all are only giving ten percent off, So you may want to change that information.
Went to my local Great Clips as they were advertising free hair cut or a coupon for a future cut. Wasted my time and gas as I wanted to participate in their generosity and found out they only had 30 coupons to give out! This was before noon. Ridiculous.
I as a Korean war Veteran, am so appreciative of all that the patriotic citizens of these United States do to support us in big and little ways. And, in behalf of those that offered the ultimate sacrifice, thank you so so much for loving our Great nation.
Thank you Veterans and military families! Loved reading this list to see all the great goodies available to say “thank you”. One wish, if you agree please speak up and let our voices be heard- specials and discounts on Veteran’s Day-YES! Specials, discounts, sales galore on MEMORIAL DAY – NO. Too many marketing teams wanting to capitalize on warm weather, three day weekend, and ignorance- a forgetful mass have stolen and erased the true meaning of Memorial Day- I write and call these companies begging them to not have deceased sales- no selling out because weather is pretty. I would love to see real meaning brought back and swap- Memorial Day and Presidents Day- then the official start of summer will not hijack the day we honor our fallen, remember their sacrifice and mourn the loss of lives cut short for our freedom. Move Memorial Day to February and Presidents Day to May and for God’s sake do not have a discount on a mattress or other good/service to the masses because a soldier fell and a life was lost.
Help me spread the word. Reclaim the meaning.
Thank you to all that serve and their families.
This information is highly inaccurate! We spent time and energy going to a lot of places only to find what is on their website is different from what is presented here. Double check your sources before spreading misinformation!!
At outback steakhouse, you have to order an entree to get the deal.
Mission bbq is giving away free sandwiches for veterans
The Subway deal is a bust I’ve been to TWO subways in maple grove Minnesota both are offering 10% to vets but say they are not participating in the free six inch deal! Dang I had my heart set on a meatball sub…. Sigh but so grateful for Wendy’s Hy Vee Chick fil A and White Castle!! Way to go all you participating merchants! May God co time to bless you and your business as you bless us!!!
Thank you, America, for remembering all veterans on this special day, proud to have served!!
The 4Patriots Veterans Day Event page says the event is over. I guess maybe you could have mentioned that it was a limited time or limited offer. I went to the page at 10:30 central on the 11th, and its over already.
Subway is not giving out free 6” sub sandwich. You all need to verify these deals before you post.
Goodyear Auto Service: Offering free tire, brake, battery and fluid checks, plus 10% off tires. Appointment required.
They always off free safety checks, thats how they upsell! They probably don’t have any appointments available. Just another one of those things that companies do to virtue signal.
Excellent help for this 90 year old Army Veteran and I thank you.
Happy Veterans day! Go Vegan
Thank you. This helps so much.
As a Marine Veteran of the Viet-Nam Era, I served from 1968-1971. I wish to thank all these kind and thoughtful business and organizations for these gifts and services.
Wendy’s stopped their offer at 10:30; the listings should include exceptions and times.
Camel Carwash is doing Free carwashes for Veterans and Active Military on November 11, 2024
thank you! Great site.
Nice article, thanks.
Thank you for the posting.
4Patriots website does not allow me to register to receive the free $29 package. I tried their virtual person (no luck) and to be redirected to a real person (again, no luck)
Thank you.
I’ve gone out to eat in the past for Veteran’s Day “appreciation”. Most of the places offer only a “special Veteran’s Day” menu comparable to a can of “C”rations. I won’t be fooled anymore. I learned how much the country appreciates veterans in 1967. That was enough “appreciation” for me.
I always find very good deals on this we’d sister, Thank you
Wish they did the discount listings by state.
Sport Clips is offering a free haircut to all active duty personnel and veterans.
thank you for all the good info on va deals.
This is awesome, thank you for giving honor to Veterans who served and made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. I served during the Vietnam War 1971 To 1973.
Enjoy your FREEDOM!
All of the name calling on here reminds me of why I don’t log on to many of the veteran’s websites any more. This VA post is meant to let us know where we can enjoy discounted foods and services on OUR day. Thank these providers by doing business with them throughout the year and appreciate the fact that we are being acknowledged for our service. Or maybe you would prefer to be treated like we were back in the 60’s and 70’s when we were spit on, refused to be served at restaurants, and called baby killers?
Kenndey Space Center in Florida, free addmission for veterans with proper military ID active or retired.
Ollie’s offers 15% off entire purchase for military and veterans on Veteran’s Day.
Magnolia Soap and Bath
Veterans receive a free bar of soap, all locations.
Valid in store only
Thank you for thinking of us
Thank you for providing such a great list of resources for veterans to take advantage of .
Texas de Brazil offers 10% discount to Veterans every day. You can go to their site and view this information.
The 4Patriots offer is not free, you have to spend $997 before you get the “free”. That needs to be stated in this article.
You guys did a great job pulling this together for veteransthank you?
Colonel, air force
wayne howard
Thanks to all you veterans, this country wouldn’t be as it is if we didn’t do our part. I tried, first enlisted 1953 took retirement in 1996.
thank you for informing us vets appreciate it
Thank you very much for listing all the veterans discounts and free meals. Well appreciate it from all of us vets
All Veterans should boycott Mc Donald’s and Burger King because they don’t have enough respect for our country veterans to at least give a coffee to a Veteran on Veterans day. Wendy’s gives a breakfast meal.
I am grateful to all of our military members and leaders who have pledged their all to keep us safe and I am so pleased to see that so many businesses take time out to say ‘thank you’ as well. God bless all of you who serve.
Thank you for all the discounts. Thank you America for electing Mr. Donald J. Trump as our next president. Stay tuned: cheaper fuel, less expensive food and services, fewer illegal immigrants. Can you say landslide? Sgt. Stephen
From a Vietnam Era Veteran: Thank you for your service, everyone! Stay safe and stay in good health!
add to your list Warm & Safe Heated Gear for 20% discount for all Vets and First Responders all the time! we are all Vets! [Editor’s note: link removed]
316 tees is not related to veterans day at all. Get that SH-T off my newsletter.
Sonic. 1/2 price shakes. LMAO
Thank you to all the businesses for participating ❤️
It would be nice if one could determine if Veterans Day retail benefits ‘honored’ the military only, or if anyone can get the benefit because it happens to be Veterans Day. I had a situation for an item from a site listed above that stated the veterans discount would extend through Nov 13 but when I went to the store use the discount the next day, I found that it had expired overnight for that item. This is a situation where it appears the merchant treats Veterans Day discounts the same for anyone who wants the deal.
the world is a good place. lots of love GOD BLESS US ALL.
WhY are veterans always given WRONG info? It’s difficult enough getting to a location then find out your report or military.coms report is incorrect?!! Military.com says carrabas is offering a free meal and yours is stating 10 % off a meal? Which is it?
7 Brew is doing 25% off on Vet day.
I appreciate that there are many established businesses which thank our service members for giving freebies and discounts, which they can write off.
I was drafted, sent into another country’s jungle, saw and faced death almost daily and saw good men go home in body bags.
Our new President, Mr. “Bone-spur”, calls Veterans “Suckers and Losers”. Perhaps he has a point
.
Remind me, when was the last time America was “Great”?
Thank You. I’m a Honorably Discharged Veteran. This helps in more ways than one.
Thank you for providing this comprehensive list of opportunities where businesses are offering discounted services for Veterans and other service persons. It is appreciated.
Outback’s Bloomin’ Onion & drink are only good on dine in & with a purchase of an adult entrée. [Editor’s note: link removed]
I like Freddy’s and Texas Roadhouse vouchers. I would like to see more companies provide vouchers so we can enjoy the benefit from many restaurant’s and not just on Veterans Day.
Many thanks for posting this information. Hopefully in the future, you will list restaurants that serve vegan, organic food.and drinks. I’m on a special medical diet and cannot tolerate the food at most of these places because it would kill me from the sodium content, genetically modified this and that etc. etc.
The parades listed, I have no interest in. So that’s just my two cents. Hopefully, down the line you will be able to list other events, ie. art shows, galleries, museums, concerts etc. which I would find of more interest than people marching or driving around waving flags which is a waste of time and meaningless to me. Keep on keeping on!
Thanks for not forgetting about us! Really.
Thank you for offering such a comprehensive listing of freebies and discounts for the veterans and active duty persons out here. We enjoy a freebie every now and then even though serving this wonderful country was our honor.
Aerial Resupply Coffee Company (A Veteran Owned Small Business), is offering Veterans 30% Off on their next order, Sat, November 9to the Mon, November 11th. [Editor’s Note: link removed]
For any who haven’t looked up Project 2025, it’s targeting Veterans Benefits. They want to make it harder to qualify, Privatize the VA and cut benefits. Just thought you should know what’s coming if you never bothered to look.
I thought this was to show respect and honor (Veterans) not to discuss politics . Im proud to have served in the US ARMY 1964-1968. I have worked hard to have a wall erected in my home town of Malden ,Mo (MALDEN VETEREANS MEMORIAL WALL) that was dedicated to the citizens of Malden 11-11-2023 .At present I have at least (200) names of deceased veterans that served our country to make us free ( so please show some respect or stay off comments) If you ever here take a look.
i appreciate free meals offered –but inside only denies offer to those of us 100% disabled and housebound–spouse should be invited to pick up for us
i not only want to thank all these wonderful folks for all these free meals and discounts i want to thank all those young men and women that have served since the gulf war. you made it honorable again to be a veteran. when i came home from my overseas tour of duty i was told to not wear my uniform. my how things have changed. thanks to all.
Thank you very much
This news/column/article was NOT meant for anyone to rant with political comments. My thanks to anyone/any organization that is offering free meals/discounts to any active duty or veteran personnel. We did not join up (even if drafted) in order to receive freebees: we have or had a job to do and that was/is to defend our country. So quit your belly aching and join me in thanking these individuals/companies who are reducing their income (spending their money)to honor our efforts. I applaud them and especially those who also include a “lost man” display in their celebration of Veteran’s Day.
I had a pet rock once.
How do you get a veterans ID?
Serve in t Military. A veteran can get an ID at most VA Clinics. The ID is earned.
these vet need help
I WOULD PERSONALLY LIKE TO GIVE THANKS TO ALL AND EVERYONE WHO THINKS ABOUT US VETERANS ENOUGH TO OFFER US ANYTHING FREE. ITS A BLESSING FOR WHATEVER THEY GIVE BECAUSE THEY DONT HAVE TO OFFER NOTHING AS SOME DONT. SO IM GRATEFUL TO WHOEVER RECOGNIZES US.
THERE IS AGAIN A SPECIAL DHOPPING DEAL AT ALL OCEAN STATEJOB LOT STORES, YOU GET 40% OFF AS A RETURN COUPON ON YOUR PURCHASES
I would like to thank all of the establishments for their offers to us veterans. It is greatly appreciated. Thank You
Hello I’m a vet and unfortunately dealing with cancer for the 2nd time but appreciate all the offers for vets all is well deserved
My husband served in Vietnam and I am a proud spouse. It is great that so many now give these items you veterans compared to the negative action to him when he came home. Thank you
I think it’s all great any good thing
This day and time in our lives
Is a GOOD THING AMEN
Thanks,.
Thank you to all these restaurants for the free meals. But PLEASE REMEMBER THE WAIT STAFF. They normally work for tips based on the menu prices. Ask them what the value of your free meal was and give them a tip based on that (as a minimum). They work hard to serve all of us on Vet’s Day.
I could really use a haircut, just a line up…..
The thing that Memorial Day and Veterans Day have in common, is that they both have Mattress Sales!!!!
Thank you for all the discounts available! I am humbly grateful
I am an Air Force veteran who served from 1952 to 1956 as a radar technician. I was notified that my DD214 was destroyed in a fire at a Missouri location about 10 years ago. No further information was provided. Are there no comments from other Korean war personnel?
I used to work as a server in a restaurant. At the end of his meal this old vet asks me if we did veterans discounts. I didn’t know so I went to the little kiosk and looked through the discounts and there it was, 10% off.
He said he asks that everywhere he goes and wished he had started doing it earlier in life, would’ve saved him thousands.
Now I do the same and I am amazed at how many places do 10% discounts for veterans. All hardware stores, all sporting goods stores (except Dick’s), nearly all restaurants, all automotive stores, retailers of every sort (not Walmart or Target), and so many more. I even use to repair and/or sell air conditioners and we had a veteran discount there too. I buy parts for my wife’s Volkswagen at the dealership and they give me 10%. I’m leaving out so many places that where I get discounts because I can’t remember them all.
My point is that it’s great that us vets are honored on Veterans Day but don’t wait for one day out of the year to get discounts. They’re literally everywhere and they are all year. Need shoes, socks, and some ammo? Big 5 gives you 10%.
If you’re going to make a significant purchase of anything like a car, RV, or HVAC stuff get the price first. Then ask about a military discount. If they don’t have one their sales people will usually invent one to keep your business.
So I hope you all enjoy your weekend and Veterans Day with your loved ones. Semper Fi.
If these welcoming thank you’s were offered when we returned from VIETNAM it would have been so wonderful .I still am grateful for all the officers thank you . Please also remember all those that did not returned .

4Veterans Kit is full price at $997
The deal is for free gifts offered only to veterans today.
Very misleading.
I’m a Army Veteran 13 years.
THANK YOU FOR LISTING ALL THE VETERANS DAY DISCOUNTS AND COMPLIMENTARY MEALS. IT MAKES IT EASIER TO MAKE A DECISION ON WHERE TO EAT AND WHAT IS ON THE MENU AND OTHER DISCOUNTS. THANK YOU ALL FOR REMEMBERING THE VETERANS, ACTIVE DUTY, AND FIRST RESPONERS FOR ALL THAT THEY HAVE DONE AND STILL DO.
A 180 turn from the 60’s, yes?
I would like to thank all those companies who have supported and cared for those who have served for our country and it’s inspired US Constitution which maintains our freedoms.
Great Clips: November 11, Veterans and active duty service members can receive a free haircut or free haircut card for future visit.
See? That’s how you do it. You don’t have to wait in a huge line. You get a coupon that you can use anytime. I wish all these companies did that.
If it’s similar to their last voucher they offered, it expires by the end of December 2024, so make sure you don’t forget about it
Ethan, The Texas Roadhouse voucher is just received expires 5/2025
They also offer 10% off all year round, you have to ask them for it
Where is the hair cut free
Fantastic good to honest the Veterans….
Thank you for this but as a Navy veteran, I did what I signed up to do…to proudly serve our country. Thank you to the USA for remembering us Veterans at this time and throughout the entire year. Kudos!
Why would you be proud to serve the genocidal terrorist USA that killed millions of innocent people around the world? LOL!
Thanks for all you do for veterans.
Great deals for my 28 years!

Bobbie J’Z Restaurant.
1668 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001. Free Breakfast on Veteran’s Day.
This is inaccurate for MOD Pizza. Their marketing communication says with purchase it is the free dessert.
Chili’s has a vet day menu
Bubba Gump Shrimp only offers a 20% discount to veterans on Veterans Day? … Really??
WHAT A JOKE. This Restaurant chain gets its dumb, gimmicky name from a movie, from a scene that specifically depicts the Vietnam War and yet… Offers a whole… 20% off.
WHAT A JOKE.
That’s really sad for a place that has seriously overpriced food. Too bad they are not donating to the Gary Sienese Foundation.
being a veteran myself. I really appreciate any discount, They don’t have to give a dime but they are giving 20% which is a great discount
Go elsewhere and pay full price..looked at my enlistment papers..didn’t see anything about free stuff for life…I appreciate what is offered…
Don’t eat there. Ever. Keep in mind that Veterans’ Day kick-downs aren’t a right. They are an expression of a company’s appreciation for our service. This company is probably owned and/or run by lefties, who most of the time really have no appreciation for the military or those who serve or have served the country in the military. I appreciate it when a co9mpany shows some appreciation for my service…. but I’m well aware I don’t have a right to it.
Why are you so upset? They didn’t have to do anything, like most businesses. Check that entitled attitude….sheesh.
Jerry, anything above 0% is a gift accept it with gratitude.
What do you expect from a propaganda pro-USA movie that is historically biased, inaccurate and glorifies the terrorist genocidal USA’s crimes.
We’re owed nothing, Jerry. Stop [redacted]. Happy Veterans Day!
Being a veteran I never expected free or discounted meals or haircuts, etc., because I served our country. Now we are getting these freebees, etc. These retailers are thanking us in their way and we should thank them as they thank us. So leave politics out of the comment section, there are other venues out there for you to raise your voice. With that said I want to thank all those that served and that are currently serving.
Amen, brother
Absolutely agree. It was my privilege and an honor to serve in uniform. And I thank all those now serving.
Kamala lost. Kick rocks if you think you’re going to tell me when and where I can exercise the rights I defended. Who are you?
totally agree, 100%!
I’m with you 100%, as a Veteran I’m thankful for what the community and businesses do for us.
Amen to that!! Is it a nice gesture from these companies to offer these discounts? Absolutely!! However, they don’t have to offer anything, yet they do. We should either be grateful or not bother to comment. There is absolutely no good reason to complain.
What a disgrace to the uniform for someone who should have some honor and dignity is crying and whining over a company’s act of kindness and generosity when the company is not obliged to do anything. Disgraceful!
100% Semper Fi brother
There are no other venues as all websites censor our critical thinking voice and the right to criticize the terrorist genocidal USA and Israel.
Welcome home brother!
Who are you to tell anyone what to post? Head Vet in charge??? I think not! Most of these discounts are insulting. It really doesn’t matter what YOU expect from your time in service. Curb your condescending bossiness. How about that?
Thank-you totally agree 100% with you, retailers restaurants do not have to do this – they are very kind to remember and offer what they can
100% correct!! Proves how entitled our country has become.
I just checked and found that Mammoth Mountain is not giving a free lift ticket to vets this year. So don’t go up and stand in line at the ticket office (anyway, they don’t open until 11/15).
That was last year they didn’t offer for this year the list wasn’t updated for this year. I checked as well

Hi! Thanx for the offers, but unfortunately most of these offers are not available to rural veterans
A rural veteran not from another planet; get up and get out man; visit the nearest city or town: i’m sure someone will give you a discount or free meal if you ask.
Marty I am amazed at your comments. Donald Trump has done more for Veterans than any recent Commander In Chiefs.
The Biden Harris administration has sold old America to our adversaries , allowed open borders allowing anyone to enter our country including criminals and those who want to cause us harm. They put up illegals in hotels while our Veterans remain homeless.
I have just named a few My friend open your eyes and stop listening to those socialists who want to destroy our country and constitution. 60 million Americans have spoken both in red and blue states it’s time you open your eyes
God Bless our President elect (He sure has protected him on two tries to kill him) ,May God open your eyes and God Bless America
I hear you. Living in a 1 light town myself, closest big town is 45 min, Big City is 1.5 hrs. We make a day of it, find somewhere for lunch, do stuff in between and then dinner.
Please leave politics out of the November 11 veteran celebration…thanks.
We anti-war true veterans have the right to criticize the terrorist genocidal USA and Israel. [redacted]
how can I print this list???
ctr+p – print to PDF, or print to your printer. Make sure pages are only ones with the offers unless you want to read the comments too :-D
I opened it on my computer, highlighted the list and copied it to my word processor and then clipped it to only the ones that I could go to. Then printed it. Good luck and thanks for your service. I really enjoy seeing all the other vets and sharing the camaraderie and smiles with those who I have some common ground with.
Applebees, County line road,Springhill,fl Excellent steak dinner for veterans. We go there every Veterans Day. Can’t beat the meal or the service. I just can not believe as a country, who has fought against dictators for so many years, that we would elect a dictator for president.
I hope and pry we don’t regret the next four years. TKS MRS.
We didn’t elect a communist/socialist dictator, we elected an Americans First Trump
Correct, not a communist/socialist dictator but an America loving Patriot. And that man does not refer to patriotic Americans as “garbage”. That lowlife comment was very revealing and could, in part, explain the rout, the landslide election we’re privileged to have witnessed.
Except fallen soldiers who are suckers and losers.
I totally disagree written by a women that is concern about women’s health. 4 years of so many unknowns. I think that the laws should be re-written since we are letting Trump go scott free of all of hist criminal acts. That’s so wrong. It is clear that he is above the law. It’s thousands of men and women that have been convicted for less. The world is watching. Me and my spouse Proudly served (Retired Vets) we are not dodgers, when it came to serving our country and would do it again if needed. Bone spurs, Yeah “Right”. what gives me comfort is that God is my commander in chief and God has all Power in Heaven and in Earth. And Yes I say AMEN!
All the Presidents both republicans and democratics in the past (with 2 exceptions) served with honor. I can freely name, 1 of the 2 at this time, Nixon. Even he held on to for the most part, moral fortitude and values. He never called this country a garbage can or called our Veterans losers. I think that all service persons serving past and present should be appalled of someone who labels us this way, losers! I served this country under honorable persons, Commanders in-Chiefs, Generals, CSM’s, MSG’s, 1st sgt’s, etc… and they gave me hope and motivation to be a better person. I suggest that we look threw clear colored lenses and see now, our new reality. Please Remember our country’s history, and don’t have a short memory. I Love this country and I love All military service men and women that believe and exericise military CORE VALUES. We are not losers but Winners!! that are not cowards. My heart is broken concerning this new regime . Thumbs up to my military brothers and sisters who have served and that are still serving. Hats off to those that have paid the ultimate price for our Freedom!
Loving it!
America first? He’s a sell out to his daddy Putin another dictator. The fact he said he would be a dictator for a day is the most troubling comment in American politics so far.
Do you know what a dictator is? What has President Trump done or said that makes you think he will be a dictator or that he wants to be one? We have 3 branches of government, none of which have absolute power. It was designed that way for a checks and balance system. One of the beautiful things of our type of government.
Trump, himself said he wanted to be a dictator. Even if it was for a day. And if could achieve dictatorship for a day, he would not let it go. Trump is buddy-buddy with Putin. No other US president can say that. And according to the US Supreme Court, Trump is immune from any prosecution. And he can do anything he wants and not be held accountable. I think, in the next four years, Trump will try to dismantle the US election system so he can stay in power.
You need to stop listening to the fake news. I am so sorry you can’t think on your own. Perhaps you should listen to yourself and see how stupid you sound. Educated or not you don’t seem to understand how our government works. I bet you don’t know half of what our current President signed into law. I am not sure he knows what he signed. Harris said she would not change a thing that was done in the last 4 years and she was a part of it all. So I guess you enjoy the downhill spiral of our country and it’s standing in the world.
Really? Thank these wonderful Merchants for giving these savings to all of us Veterans. I appreciate!
He wanted to be dictator for a day to rid this country of the ridiculous WOKE policies introduced by the dictator Biden.
I’ve said I would like to be Napoleon, that doesn’t even make me French. It’s funny, when Trump says something outrageous, you believe it will really be true. And when he says something reasonable, you call him a liar. Is this really about Trump or you?
Wow! Somebody drank the Kool-aid from the democratic punchbowl. He has been persecuted at every turn since leaving office as the 45th president and, btw, he did not take a salary for that presidency. The Clinton’s should be the ones with felony convictions, not Trump. After all, Bill Clinton was guilty paying hush money too but he wasn’t brought up on charges. As far as Putin is concerned, have you ever heard of the phrase, “Keep your friends close but your enemies closer!”?
Kamala lost. Leave the country if you don’t like it. But if you chose to stay, just remember…..”against ALL enemies, foreign AND domestic”….
Sir you’re a delusional if Trump wanted to be a dictator he would have been did it on his first term so try to wisen up [redacted] your biden’s the one with the offshore bank account
It is illogical to believe that any president would willingly choose to make an enemy of the second largest nuclear power in the world. Diplomacy plays a crucial role in international relations, and every president has displayed the necessary decorum to maintain a civil interaction with Putin. A quick search online will reveal numerous images of presidents shaking hands with Putin. It is important to exercise prudence and acknowledge the significance of fostering positive relationships with other countries. If you’re saying Trump has been the only one to trying to build bridges with other powerful, dangerous countries. Then you are correct and that’s a smart play on his part.
Alan
Just think how good the country would be if you Libs worked with Trump instead of working to impeach him. If your better off now than 4 years ago your one of the few and congratulations for that but I would bet if you are most of your family aren’t.
You served? I find it hard to believe that you served. Nobody, who took a sworn oath, would talk about anyone elected President in this way. If you did serve, you are an embarrassment to your branch of service and all US Veterans. I will pray for your lost soul.
Alan, do you say things you don’t relly mean. Trump is buddy-buddy with many foreign leaders and I am not alone in knowing he is attempting peace throughout the land instead of ignoring them like the Biden/Harris administration. Apparently, Biden/Harris administration is immune from any prosecution as well. So it’s okay to prosecute a former president for the lies the left tells. Just look at the shit the left has done to this country. O’Bummer, Moochelle, Imahoe Hilary and Crazy Nancy (misspelled on purpose) should be convicted for all their crimes including attempting to make Harris their marionette. Alan, did you cash all those Economic Impact Payments Trump sent out, if you don’t like Trump maybe you should be made to pay that money back.
Boy you guys do not need a free meal because you are so full of the Kool-Aid they have been feeding you that there is no room for anything else. Notice libs on here started the hate speech not the real Americans. Go hide in your moms basement or move out of the country with your Hollywood hero’s.
Bottom line. He’s still a lying draft dodging coward!
Your statements are untruthful. You need to watch/read a more reliable news source. It is the democrats who want to dismantle the Constitution. It is the democrat un-nominated candidate who is a Marxist. It is the democrat party that engaged in election interference in 2020 in order to gain power, so don’t talk to me about being a dictator. (You canignore the documented ballot stuffing and votes from dead or non-resident or illegal voters if you choose, but the suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop story by the media at the request of the Biden-HARRIS DOJ is well documented and proven! And after it broke people were saying that had they known they would not have voted for Biden-HARRIS.) And to correct your mistatement, Trump is not “buddy-buddy” with Putin. He negotiates with Putin. Big difference. You didn’t see Putin invading Ukraine when Trump was president. It’s the Biden Crime Family that received money from the Russians. That sounds “buddy-buddy” to me.
If he was a dictator slick Willy then why is he not still in power? If that was true he’s the worst dictator in history because they never give up power! You are the very definition of a liberal, spouting off talking points from the Mockingbird media. You would be in jail too because you don’t agree with your insane dictator theory. I guess you better leave the country I’m reporting you to the dictator, what a lunatic you are. I thought you were in the so called party of Unity? You are a divider and dislike anyone with opposing views to the point that you lose control when your party loses power!
He literally said he’d be a dictator “only on Day One so we can seal the border and ‘drill baby drill’”. It was during an interview on Fox News. Btw, the border can not be physically sealed nor will more drilling lower gas prices (which are low, I live in Upper Michigan and paid $2.85/gal yesterday). Trump is a Fascist. This vet despises him.
He actually said that he will be a dictator from day one your selective hearing ignored it. The speech was televised and all over the media
Except him as the strong leader he is. People like you is why we have elected him and I pray it’s not to late to prevent WW 3. Wipe the tears from your eyes and deal with it butter cup…
Well said Gary.!
Before you criticize your next president, you may want to learn how to spell-assume you meant “pray” not “pry”. Obviously, a majority of American voters disagree with you.
Actually “a majority of Americans” DID NOT VOTE FOR HIM. A fraction of eligible voters voted. He won the popular vote for the 1st time after losing it by 7 million votes the last time. The majority of Trump voters can’t pass an 8th civics test or tell fact from misinformation. THAT is what Trump was banking on and it worked.
sounds like somebody that never fought in a real war.
stop talking dum. In joy the next four years. Its on us.
I’m not sure but the country was so much better off during this dictators reign, I fail to see your point. If you had listened a little closer to Trump’s comment made in jest, you would have heard him say, for the first day only. You witnessed the biggest ass-kicking ever in political history and this is the best you can come up with. PLEASE.
How dare you! Don’t you dare put down President Trump! – STFU!
[redacted] you and Haris should live together you are no VETERAN he is not a dictator the country was better off when president Trump was in office in every way jobs housing groceries cost the border I am Airforce VETERAN Heart Stent person you should take your liberal few and your hate for a president that did so much for VETERAN and the country! And move to a third world country then see how you.feel thank.god and the American people that voted to bring this president Trump back and his new cabinet to fight to make America Great Again!
The marxist dictator was Harris. she was anotherone of obama’s puppets. thank GOD we got her out
Hang up the political comments. It is what it is. Keep your politics off social web sites.
Marty, open your eyes. Check the statistics about President Trump’s first term in office. The USA was again a top world power in spite of the previous administration’s mistakes.
Amazon said no discount
Anyone posting here wishing death on ANY US president should be investigated. This is unacceptable and unbecoming of any active duty or veteran who has served this great country and all the sacrifices made. On a lighter note I’m very grateful for the establishments who honor our service. In&out and Chick-fil-A my favorite go to on Veterans Day.
Thankyou Lord for sparing Donald Trumps life, he will “Make America Great Again” and God Bless ALL the Veterans who have served, enjoy YOUR day, Don’t eat too much, I already have my list of places to go to, and Thankyou to all the places offering Food, Entertainment and Auto and Service
Go away. You’re not rich. We got nothing but our usual life in America.
I’m a Vietnam veteran and I am not happy that a pathological lying, bullying, AND draft dodger was re-elected. And, the Lord had nothing to do with sparing his life, it was simple a shooter who was not a good shot.
I’m also a Vietnam veteran and I disagree with your stupid comment. I pray that it’s not too late to prevent WW 3 and hopefully the younger generations will have some of the same opportunities we enjoyed. Wipe your tears and hang on tight, we have a lot of cleaning up to do. Don’t let the door hit you in the back!
Cant fix stupid.
Then why did Trump dodge the draft? Why didn’t he talk to Putin about ending the war when he was out of office? He’s a conman and you’re just another sucker to him. Sorry brother.
So good to see there are so many veterans who remember what service to their country means. I still have a little faith left thanks to brave people like you, putting traitors in their place. Thank you.
I am also a Vietnam vet, Bien HOA 1967-1969. Your comment, “…a shooter who was not a very good shot…” interesting statement coming from a patriotic american. Are you suggesting he should have been a better shot? After all, he was a frequent member at a shooting range. Seems to me he had the characteristics of a good shot. I have no problems with veterans who voted the other way but your statement is problematic suggesting the shooter should have been more successful.
Not the maga traitor I replied to, the true patriots, standing against fascism.
would you stop obsessing about Bill Clinton ???????
Probably 95 percent of politicians never went into active military. What was accomplished by being in Vietnam? Ask the fifty thousand dead soldiers. Lieutenant Dan was pissed too cause his destiny was to RIP in Vietnam. Forest Gump saved him, and later he got his legs back. Life is short, and most veterans know this and feel that they could of been RIP a long time ago in a place almost forgotten. Sounds like to me that you were not in Vietnam like so many others who say they got medals for service unverified.
You do know that was a movie right? You never served either or you wouldn’t bring up Lieutenant Dan and his story like it was real. And Vietnam is only forgotten by those people that were never there or had no connection. My two brothers are Vietnam vets and I’m a Vietnam era vet and will not forget the men and women the gave there lives by no choice of there own. You got a lot of balls calling out other peoples service.
Jim Saklas, I too am a Vietnam vet. 1965 -1966. I agree with you totally. The shooter was not a good shot. The sad part of that failed attempt is , an innocent man was killed.
He spent four years cheating at golf and I spent fours years in he Air Force. 3 winters in Alaska and one summer in Panama. He was in better shape than I was.
You are an [redacted]. Signed Marine Vet.
u must be an athiest
Amen Jom Saklas I’m an Army vet who agrees with you 100%. Trumps supporters see and hear only what they choose to see and hear. They parrot empty headed talking points and like a parrot, has no idea what the sounds they mimic mean. Arguing with them is a waste of time. You can’t reason with unreasonable people.
[redacted] Joe, lifeguard, football player got SIX deferments for “asthma.” Uh-huh.
I’ll remind you, “bone spurs” were disqualifying under AR 40-501 Standards of Medical Fitness back then.
Whine elsewhere.
Four years under Trump and four years under Harris. Which was better for this country? If you dont know, you should not have voted. Stop relying on CNN for your information and do your own intelligent research.
You’re free to leave and go live in China
As Veterans , and US citizens we should learn to live and work together to make this country a better place, with out all this hate, united we stand divided we fall, God Bless America ??
Amen to that ! Lets come together and be strong again in America. Make America Great once again!
There was no lt dan Forrest Gump was fiction a movie..
If America is so bad, why are so many people still risking their lives trying to get here? If it’s so bad why is gas finally under 3 bucks a gallon? Why is the stock market thru the roof? Why did the Fed just lower interest rates? Why are so many people working and making more money doing it? WE ARE DOING GREAT, you Trump fans just refuse to acknowledge it. That’s pretty sad.
America WAS great until 2016.
Veteran day is for Active duty and Veteran that served in the military, not draft dodgers.
My Kroger grocery story is advertising ” an additional 10% off” for veterans 0n May 11th” – don’t have any additional details
Just spoke with Amazon. There is no direct discount for active duty or vets. It’s a blanket discount on select items – for everyone. Information regarding this on Amazon.com is scarce, only on pertaining sale items will it be buried.
Amazon has different stores that make it and provide contents and most are not American. Why would you support another countries military?
I am a Purple Heart ? Wifow saluting all military personnel (veterans, active and reservists).
Veterans Day is NOT Donald Trump Day! He never served.
Your correct. Politics has no place here
Absolutely right!
Everyone: SHUT UP W/ YOUR DAMNED POLITIX!!!
I wish you all a fortnight of diarrhea!
“you’re” correct to, except for your English.
and your English is not correct either. It’s “you’re correct too.”
“too”
Just sayin’ ;)
Well, I just want to say, that any day is a good, if I can wake to another day… But today is even better because I had the pleasure of reading the thoughts of fellow Vets and what is important to them.
Happy Veterans Day to you all…
Can we all just get along
God loves you all
Aman . one veteran to another ???
And it’s?,”too”.
How many times have you been shot?
Gee I think this democrat is pouting. That’s typical though.
I like for him to tell me which of the presidents other than Washington did fight for this country?
Amazon does not offer a discount for Veterans

Privet bonespur has no respect for veterans. He has no honor.
No discount from Amazon
Thank you for providing the information for us veterans and also so we can pass it on to other veterans who may not have a way to receive this information
That was most thoughtful and kind of you to put all that great and helpful info together — THANK YOU!
Yes indeedy! Thx!
Gracias a mi esposo miguel y a Mi,,por SER parte de Este pais y servir para todos ustedes
Also Raley’s and Bel Air supermarkets are offering 10% discount to veterans on their entire purchase!!
20% Amazon discount does not exist. Just tried, Amazon doesn’t know anything about it.
Very nice list for us to look over and select some meals or services
Howdie are there any Veteran owned Businesses in Denver that help Veterans with junk removal. Looking to clean storage and donate items not used. Thanks!
I don’t know of any, but this made me think that we should have “groups” on WhatsApp, or FaceBook, or whichever social media is best for everyone, that we could join specific to our own regions for veterans offering and/or needing help for various things.
Veterans helping veterans – or something like that.
In our case, in Colorado, or the Denver Metro area for example.
Hmm ?
Check out that Nextdoor site. It’s pretty good if you use a little common sense and weed out the wackos. ?
Great Clips in Hutchinson,Minnesota gives veterans a coupon for a free haircut!
Nice! Here in the Lehigh Valley free haircut too,!
Thank you to all the participants for your generosity.
Just so happy that Trump won our election. Make America great again. Thank you, my dear brothers and sisters who served our country. Freedom is not free. God bless America. I am grateful for you, my dear brothers and sisters for your great sacrifices on behalf of this nation. Although there are many who do not Believe in our sacred flag. We fought for their right to do so. Thank you to all the retailers and food establishments that will honor us. You’re all heroes in my eyes. God bless America, God bless Donald Trump and JD events and all the people who would wish to carry this nation forward in becoming. It’s one superpower stats, and the world will know it again. We are no longer weak, our borders will be controlled, our economy will bounce back, our fuel resources will be utilized correctly. Our healthcare system and poison ingredients will be changed by Robert F Kennedy Junior. So many good and wonderful things will happen for these great United States of America. Our founding fathers knew what they were talking about. When they say in God we trust.
Benny, Benny, Benny, Why do you turn a blog for vets into a political argument. Do I need to remind you that President Bone Spurs considers our military and veterans suckers and losers? He wasn’t fit for the draft because his daddy’s docs lied to keep him out. Please tell me how a draft dodger like that, who can talk about pointing 9 guns at a political rival is fit to be our C&C? He uses Hitler-like talk such as describing American citizens like me as enemies within because I disagree with him! You are more concerned about our economy than our values. I volunteered for service out of patriotism and the desire to protect my fellow citizens. I did not do it to get rich. Hell! my pay back then would have qualified me for food stamps!
One of his very 1st decisions the last time he took office was to take away the 1st amendment rights of every government employee. He signed a presidential order that prevented them from posting anything on social media unless they had written approval. This time is going to be so much more worse. Remember to keep applauding him and asking for him to have God’s blessing as he takes away rights, especially as he takes away rights you hold dear.
BTW Benny, America IS and always HAS BEEN GREAT! Trump tore out some of our greatness last time, but we managed. I pray it is great enough to survive the next four years.
Cause he’s stupid. Oh wait; I can’t say that.
Veterans day is not about politics it’s about us.
It’s about the people paying homage to us.
I respect all of you who who served and continue to serve.
Remember freedom has a bittersweet taste for those who are willing to defend it that the protected will never know.
God bless us all!
Thanks for your post
We haven’t had a Veteran as President since George Bush Sr. Why stir the pot?
??????
By the way, HITLER was a great leader. He was and still is made out as a villain by many great big lies!
Give me a 5-page memo about the difference in libel and slander in Army format (see 25-50). Cite your sources. They need to be actual quotes, not “trust me bro” propaganda. Otherwise, shut your suck and quit being a gossipy Karen. Also, find the quote about pointing 9 barrels at anyone and write another paper for me on context and the dangers of spreading lies. Your time suspense is NLT 1700 11 NOV 2024. Dismissed.
thank you, well written
Did you serve?
Read your Bible, Bennie — tRump is the anti-Christ!
What part of the Bible says that? I don’t remember seeing Trumps name in the Bible.
Perhaps, James, you weren’t paying attention. It was all over the news (Except far right wing news/entertainment cable and talk radio). Trump’s name is on the bible he’s selling for $59.99. It’s reported that his cost to have it printed in CHINA is ONLY THREE DOLLARS! By the way, I enlisted in 1963 and served 4 yrs active and 2 yrs reserve, I really F^&*ing resent being called a sucker and a loser. I am sorry if you mistakenly voted for Herr Drumph. You will very quickly discover that he’s neither a man of courage nor a man of truth. And this time, without the people who acted as guardrails to rein him in, the damage he will do to our America is unimaginable. Please look at the 14th amendment, article 3. Good luck for you and your family.
You are not only a sucker and loser, you’re a brain washed [redacted].
MAGA – signed Vietnam Veteran 70-72.
Tell me where you saw the video of Trump saying that. Where’s the proof? The left are notorious liars, if they said he did it, more than likely it was one of their statements.
1 John 2:18 should suffice. I question your Bible knowledge Mac. I find it strange that some people are always trying to tie current events to God’s Word. As far as I know, Trump is a confessed believer. I don’t know how Veterans Day turned into a Political Post.
You should have just stopped at “strange people are tying current events to god’s word…” and just left off the bit about tRump. He told evangelicals that he was NOT a christians during his campaign. we all saw/heard it.
stop projecting what you’d like for him to be cause he isn’t, never was & never will be! I don’t want to hear anyone professing to be a veteran who believes in democracy, fighting for all Americans, nor christian when you voted for a hateful/fearmonger.
Trump is the anti-Christ? Oh, I see, now it’s clear, it’s no longer the Pope, or Catholic Church, or Evangelicals or Amazon. It’s TRUMP. There is crazy and then there is super crazy and your statement about the great President-Elect Trump being the anti-Christ is not only absurd but can only be coming from a person who has escaped from the most secure insane asylum. 65% of Catholics voted for Trump, 68% of Protestants voted for Trump. My friend, you are just now living in the real world. Get with it.
David, just accept the loss. Stop spreading the lies. That’s why your side lost. People got tired of being lied to. Anyway all Americans will see things actually get done and our country will be safer with less wars. I agree this forum shouldn’t be political I just had to correct the lies. Happy Veterans Day to ALL who served!
IKEA actually offers a free entree to veterans, at least the one in sf does
Some of us vets didn’t vote for Trump or MAGA, and don’t have the same sentiments. This post about poisons in the healthcare system is just spreading disinformation. The webmaster should delete this post. This should not be a political forum.
Thanks, Ruck
Well Stated! A very Happy Veterans day to you and all our Brothers in Arms – Past and present warriors who continue to serve a higher cause than the rest of the world will ever understand!
Same to all my fellow vets !
Amen!! God Bless America!!!! God Bless President Trump/JD Vance!!
Even though I totally agree with you and I am as patriotic as you are unfortunately, not all of us veterans are considered brothers and sisters the way you express it in your “patriotic, founding fathers, motivational, God bless America comment/speech” which typically applies only to the”Caucasian ” veterans and active military ??️. We veterans and active duty Hispanics and Blacks still have to deal with racial issues not unless we stick to our own communities where the minority are the Whites and we don’t have to experience that type racism and prejudice. There will always be indifferences between the Northern and Southern states in the US ??. God bless you up North and may God bless us down here in the South. ???????????
Must someone always bring up the race card. When I was in Nam in 1968 there was a group of Black soldiers that held white soldiers at gun point while they beat them and nearly killed them. I tried to make friends with the Black soldiers in my Company and they didn’t want to have anything to do with me because I was White. As a matter of fact they told me not to ever come back to their tent or they would shoot me. In case you didn’t understand we were in a Red Zone where we kept our rifles and ammo with us at all times.
I’m still in shock we have this guy as president again.. I’ma Vietnam vet also.. I am
Someone finally pointing out the truth in the race matter
I guess they are not going to post my remarks about your racist comment.
You unhinged lunatic.
Nope. This old Vet who spent a couple of years in Vietnam is as unhappy about Captain Bone Spurs’ win as you are pleased. Maybe you missed the part where he called us “suckers and losers.”
Too bad you felt the need to get political here. This is not the place for it.
I’m still in shock we have this guy as president again.. I’ma Vietnam vet also..
Where is the proof that President Trump ever called military soldiers or veterans “suckers and losers”? If you can find any proof, not hearsay, post a link hear so I can see it. Fake news claims are not proof.
Well said sir. This Vet feels the same. Communist lovers use to be ostracized.
This sure is not meant to post political remarks. Be respectful of all us vets.
RIGHT !!! Lets see how praiseworthy you think he is after he becomes God. Don’t forget Mr V et who is so proud of him – he was a first class DRAFT DODGER
All I can say is we made it through 4 years of misery starting in 2017, I’m sure Americans can make it through 4 more years of Trumpy (or Vance) starting in 2025. God bless America (we will need it)!
PS to In God You Trust…………… over 5000 years of many Gods and guess what ………… None of them have ever showed up ??????
I personally pick Mithras. If it was good enough for the Roman Army, it’s good enough for me. [said while grinning]
you mean Make America great again for White men! When was it ever great for everyone else?
I remember seeing the full phrase, “Make America Great Again For Whites Only.”
Well, USA was founded by white humans.
Benny, your entire name sounds like the list of names that DJT and Vance will be sending back to their respective countries. I hope you enjoyed your last vote. The Draft dodger has you in his scope.
It is great for everyone else, Carla. Why do you think people from everywhere crossed over the U.S. border by the millions in the last 4 years.
Ahhh, you must be the sucker and loser Trump talked about.
Amazon tells me that they do Not give veterans discounts.
What makes you so sure of this? I don’t see anything good coming from him.
Then you must be blind!!!!!
I’m so happy to hear that many of you are unhappy with the results of the election. It gives me hope about this country, especially for the veterans who have been treated poorly over the years. It’s truly sad to see the President-elect speak down to us. There’s no doubt that he is not a good man, yet people elected him anyway. All I can do is hope that the people who work for him are much better than he is and that they possess more morals and respect for women, veterans ,and others.

great info for Vets!
I am glad to see that chipotle is not on the list. Last year I went in and they flatly refused. In fact the manager was very unhappy that i asked about the vet program. Also outback and dennys make changes and then never explain these to vets until they are at the door. Unpatriotic and gross unethical conduct
They’re going bust ;)
Thanks and Semper Fi
Hoffmans usually offers a free carwash in Vestal on the 11th. I wonder if they are doing it again this year.
I feel Outback need to Stop advertising the Blooming ONION and drink just to get US VETS IN THERE ANDTRY TO MAKE A SALE on something else.
Will try to take advantage of discounts. Thank you
I guess Amazon does “Prime Day”, yet they dance around and sing to make it seem like the discount they offer to the entire planet is supposed to make us Vets feel especially appreciated for “Veterans Day”.
WEBMASTER: It would be wise to correct the info on this page:
https://news.va.gov/136122/2024-veterans-day-discounts-free-meals/
Yer making the whole of the armed forces one by one repeat the work you should have done before mass communicating.
These guys look like they found the info: (https://veteran.com/amazon-military-discount/), though I feel they are trying hard to distract us from Amazon not giving 2 shits that you risked your life, health and sanity so that they could even EXIST. But, I guess we did not do it for the thanks, right fellas?
Thanks for your time, sorry if I sound grumpy. It is only because I am.
Amazon has no information about this discount
Amazon discount is extremely misleading and non-existent. I took a screenshot of the answer directly from Amazon…”There is no military or veteran discount, however, as an Amazon Prime member, you receive many shipping, shopping, streaming, reading, and other benefits. Visit Amazon Prime to view all included benefits. If you receive SNAP, Medicaid, or other qualifying government assistance, you can save more with Prime Access for $6.99/month; please visit our Prime Access page to see if you qualify.
Isn’t that some BS. If you don’t want to offer a discount…no worries….just don’t pretend to…
Nice, I wish it was more than one day. We have a busy veterans group which presents our colors to around 20 schools and 10 senior homes. We now call it veterans week because we cannot do it in one day but is so important reaching thousands of young people. Keep up the good work VA.
Thanks for sharing the importance of Veterans Day with so many people. School age students don’t know why it’s so important and why we are so proud. I do agree that we should have businesses offer these discount and free things to us for an extended time. Some of us are extremely busy and don’t have time to get out and enjoy them.
All is good
I am a member of Brave, I am not in the military, but I have many family members that have been or are still serving our country. I work for Omnicare pharmacy and we service nursing home residents across the United States, I’m not sure when this list comes out for vendor’s and what they offer our Veteran’s.
I think it would be nice to send a letter to our facility administrator’s and director’s of nursing these offers in mid October, going out to our facilities I know we have many veterans in our facilities. Perhaps they could arrange an outing to one of the local sites with the Veterans in the nursing homes to honor them.
Thank you Veterans for your service and sacrifices that you gave to our great nation.
Good eorl. One thing that people need to knwo is that the va is guilty if vet discrimination. An outhouse called hayley refuses to employ medically qualified veterans, claim shortages and then enact a freeze. Unpatriotic liars. If i had been this cowardly on active duty i would have a DD214 with a UD. Better than that i tried to egt that outhouse into a program designed to reduce vet suicide and vet homeless. They refused due to vet discrimination. i am a vet so I can’t know nothing about nothing. Benedict Arnold had more integrity that the va
I cannot stand by and see you post such nonsense about the VA without responding. Your feel misfortunes in obtaining employment, but to refer to the VA as disloyal or discriminatory is just plain mean, untrue, and stupid. I seen countless numbers people who are better off due to the VA’s dedication and caring efforts, (Some who didn’t deserve it in my opinion). I’ll be praying for you and your employment efforts, but please conduct yourself like the brave, dedicated, resourceful American Veteran that you are. The individual (not organization) that passed you up, is the one that’s losing out. Keep moving forward!!
What a silly request, Veterans Day is the same day every year. Why dont you address the staff/administration of these facilities they should have an activities person who can reach out to the community. They know who the vets are. Most of these businesses dont have the time to reach out to the millions of nursing homes or facilities where the majority of our vets are housed, to offer a freebie.
We have alot of homeless vets go give them a meal or a coat or something.
It would be so helpful if more mainstream businesses offered some sort of free, or half off service, like local car washes, or oil changing facilities. Nothing is offered in Rhode Island. I appreciate the other states that do this. I wish my state would get on board. A new shiny car on the outside makes a person feel good for a bit. Excellent for mental health. I will however be visiting my local Applebees, they always have a great meal selection for vets! And Dunkin Donuts with a free donut? Yes please!
these are the ones the only do it at this time of year. There others that do it thru out the year.
Thank you for choosing to honor us Veterans!
Unfortunately, I don’t live near any of the eateries mentioned. That doesn’t take away from the generosity shown by these great businesses and companies that that show their appreciation toward us. You have to give up something to live in a town that doesn’t have a stop light or caution light. Enjoy the day. I think we deserve it.
I am in the same situation as you and I agree with you 100%. It is nice that these companies do what they do but that is not the reason I enlisted or voluntered(sp) for Nam. I love it where I live and will not change it for anything. As for those who are trying to politisize (sp) this column, all i can say is to suck it up and get a life. The american people have spoken and for the next four years we will reap what we have sown. Then we will have a chance to change it if we so desire, and I’m sure we will. Besides, all the president can do is ask. It is the congress who holds the purse strings and they are the ones you should have worried about electing.
AMAZON does NOT offer any discount to active military or Veterans. The link just goes straight to Amazon. Be aware and don’t get hooked in!
Great discounts! Thank you everyone! Too bad there is nothing for someone living in Hawaii.
Last Veterans day I went to Red Lobster but they said they stopped giving the veterans meal out. Wolf road Albany. NY buy they would give me 10% off of a regular dinner. No thanks. So I went to Applebee’s and had my name on a list and waited until everyone else who waiting to be served., and the greeter kept taking people as they came in and seating them. When I asked why I had to wait so long she had thrown away the paper with my name on it. There was also a guy who came in after me who was seated, he looked awfully young, and had three campaign ribbons on his black shirt. I never saw any Vets show up for a meal like that. I’m sure he was a phony. So much for Applebee’s and Red Lobster
John, could be it was just that one franchise.
Did you talk to the manager?
Bob stop your gaslighting.
That kind of stuff happens and people do it on purpose.
I feel so honored to receive so many discounts from so many venders. business, and restaurants. I hope that All VETS understand this day is for all Veterans! Even my local community have always treated VETS with such great honor and respect. God bless all of the VETS and the service they have unselfishly gave to our country. Each day I see an American Flag I quietly remember seeing it flying on the top of my ship and watch other ships in the ocean pass us dipping their own flags in honor and respect of our flag and what it represents.
God Bless America!
I am both Korea and Vietnam vet and am happy that most businesses recognize veterans.
Anyone succeed on th 4patriots deal?
Signing-up for the Lowes Veteran’s 10% ANYTIME discount is easy. Just go to the Lowes website, set-up a My Lowe’s rewards account and then verify your status as a military service member, veteran or spouse through ID.me. I have been using this 10% discount for more than 15 years!
Thank you, for thanking us!
I needed a new dryer. So I went to lowes in Saugus Massachusetts. Showed them my hospital card and DD214 and the salesman said that they don’t give a discount to the veterans anymore
I still use the 10% discount at Lowes. I believe they quit doing it on appliances. The reason I say this, about 4 months ago I went to Lowes to buy a dryer and the associate informed me that they quit doing it on appliances.
Go to Home Depot they have a veterans discount
Of 10% ,but think I read about a program thru the
PX/exchange with one or the other.
Yes if you go to the PX website, they have a partnership with HD on major appliances, but you must go through the AAFES site to get to this dedicated portal. I’m not sure if HD external to AAFES provide vet discounts but Lowes definitely does. I really enjoy using it.
People please don’t forget you can use AAFES regardless of Service. Also don’t forget the VA Canteen which has a small assortment of items. Vets get discounts and these places are typically located inside of VA hospitals.
Lowe’s had stopped giving the 10% military discount on lumber some time ago, and they also stopped giving it on appliances several months ago. Also, I don’t know about appliances, but I was getting some lumber at Home Depot several months ago and the cashier told me that they haven’t been giving the 10% military discount on lumber to Veterans for a few years now. FYI, Lowe’s gives the 10% military discount with NO limits on how much you spend, however, Home Depot only gives you the 10% discount until you get to $400 dollars, and after that you have to start paying FULL price for everything.
Lowe’s and Home Depot both give a 10% discount. Maybe is just doesn’t apply to appliances?

All Vets qualify for the PX online shopping. You can also get a PX credit card. This provides a lower interest rate and when using your card – free shipping.

They certainly do. Use mine all the time. You have to register with them and then it’s automatic. They do not give the discount if you just show them something at check out. Must be registered.
They give discounts, just not on expensive stuff like lumber and electronics
I bought an appliance there recently and they just gave it to me without me even asking for it, I guess they had it on file. I honestly didn’t even ever remember signing up for it.
Thank you for honoring all Vets. Discounts and meals very much appreciated. Don Brasfield, Vietnam Vet.
I’ve heard Lowe’s gives 10% discount, but verification was too extensive so I gave up. Home Depot may offer the same.
In Florida the state verifies you veteran status and add a “V” on the drivers license.
There is no charge for the Lowe’s military discount. They no longer give discount on appliances and lumber.

It is not hard at all, Just show your DD214 to Customer Service and they will set you up . Easy Peezy.
The ID.me process might seem a little much, but once you have it it comes in very handy for many sites – even government sites.
I highly recommend going through that.
It makes everything else easy and quick after that.
My SportClips give a veterans discount throughout the year. You might want to check with your local store.
Amazon: Veterans and active duty service members can receive 20% off or more on select items now up until Veterans Day. Amazon said there is nothing on their site. Amazon said if there is a discount, VA would provide the coupon.
All these discounts are wonderful. Better if could have more vouchers to use after veterans day.
It would be better if you could sort the locations by state.
This is much appreciated, I would have liked to see something for service Dogs other than that I’m very thankful to all the organizations and restaurants supporting veterans. God bless us all.
Great Clips barber/salon usually gives veterans day discounts for vets in Milwaukee.
Thank you for the great info. Truly appreciated the info
Thank you for the great info
Finally a Directory is available to see which stores honor our veterans. I’ll be sure to patronage these same establishments all year round to help in their support of the USA Veterans ??

Home Depot gives a military discount year Around of 10% for all items purchases. With military ID, Kansas Drivers license with the Veteran printed at the bottom portion of the drivers license. VA health Care ID.
Your VA health Card can be used to VOTE
As it is a Government issue.
Could you put the cities where this is offered. I know about the well known companies but not the car washing places.
Are there any free dental cleaning offers this year, or are they a thing of the past?
Dunham’s Sports offers a military discount of 10% daily.
Sigh I didn’t see my comment. I don’t understand sending us these restaurants that’s not even Augusta, G.A., half of the restaurants are worth the money, or the good restaurants are too expensive and you still get nothing. Hell even Ft. Eisenhower won’t get back with veterans on for a job on indeed. These place’s will definitely be a rip off. Nothing is for free
Good grief. They aren’t going to make a list for every city in the U.S. it does t take too long to look through and figure out where you want to eat.
Can we get restaurants and stores only exclusive to where we live. I’m a veteran and so is my grandfather. Most of those restaurants are not in Augusta, G.A. smh. The ones they do have got really bad deals at the worst and good restaurants. Augusta, G.A. isn’t much but give us something. After all we have FT. Eisenhower. Smh which doesn’t hire veterans either way
Please remember to give a generous tip to your server.
Yes!! and on the value of the meal you receive~~
No, No NO!Iam allergic to you food! I get sick easily!N0! Please I an not a VA Person!
Really, you felt it was necessary to make this comment?
scrubadub gives free carwashes on Nov 11
I have a 10 percent disability rating but no I’d card…how to I get a card?
Check is your state or county offers a Veterans ID Card. Ohio offers this and they file your DD214 for long term record. The card is free in OH.
Ohio will also put it on your drivers license itself if you present the BMV with your DD214 no matter what your rating is. Its better than carrying around an extra card. You can also get veteran plates for the same cost of regular plates.
THANKS FOR LISTING ALL THE GREAT VETERAN’S DAY DISCOUNTS AND FREE DEALS AND MEALS. THANK YOU TO ALL THE VETERANS AND ACTIVE DUTY MEMBERS.
Florida will place” Veteran” on your drivers license when you show your dd214 honorable discharge. Check with your DMV in your state.
The DMV will give you disability tags at no cost if you are 100%
Texas does also.
Show your DD214.
I took my retirement DD 214 to the DMV and they looked all over but could not find the word “honorable” anywhere on it and so they would not accept it. That’s what I get for living in the Blue city of Austin, TX.
That’s strange, my DD214 says Honorable on it. I’m in Keller, Tx
Go to your local VA Clinic or VA Hospital and they will be more than glad to help you apply for one and they will take your picture at same time. In most cases they will give you your ID the same day if not it will be mailed out to you. Just don’t forget to take your DD214 and some type of ID card. If you don’t have your DD214 they too will be more than happy to help you obtain one from va.gov previously known as ebenefits. Since you are 10% service connected, you also qualify for free medical care and medical prescriptions at your local VA Outpatient Clinic or VA Hospital. If there’s none, then you will have to go to the nearest one to you.
Any of the va health facilities can take ur picture id and mail it to you
USE YOUR VA MEDICAL CARD
go to your local VA and tell them you need a Va Healthcare serv. connected card. they will take your pic. it will be a member ID.
Go to one of the VA facility and sign up for your ID card
Amazon is not offering anything. I have contacted them and they have confirmed.
Amazon DOES NOT OFFER ANY DISCOUNTS for veterans
Amazon says they have no Veteran’s discount.
Thank you for assembling this list of caring patrons. It is heartening to know that there are those who continue to honor the service we gave to our country.
Amazon discount doesn’t have instructions on how to find the veteran deals. Please help explain
Thanks for recognizing the veterans
Amazon, no discount!
I currently work for Tractor Supply and you do not have to be registered with their Hometown Heroes program to receive the 10% discount nor do they require proof of service.
I appreciate all these proprietors honoring our Active Duty n Veterans. Thank you. God bless you and God bless America Mike Stelacio Department of Pennsylvania American Legion. US Army 65-67.
I reached out to Amazon. They said that deal was for 2023 and isn’t available for 2024.
If you know something otherwise, please let me know.
Thank you for the kindness you show to veterans
As part of its annual Thank a Veteran event, Great Clips® will offer free haircuts to veterans and active military service members on Monday, November 11. Veterans and active military service members can go to any Great Clips salon in the United States and get a free haircut or a card for a free haircut that can be redeemed during a future visit.
Dear Karen, It should be so easy. Some, not all, of these offers are difficult to obtain and are not always easy to understand. I really dislike the fact that I seemingly have to prove that I qualify for a discount or special offer. These offers are not always things that I find useful. I dislike someone telling me these gifts come with strings attached. These organizations should be asking vets “what is it you could really use?” I can relate to the fact that many of our younger generation have little or no idea what Veterans Day is about. This is another reason why we should return to teaching civic in our schools. Kids should be required to take citizenship classes during school. Many new citizens know and understand our government better than those born into citizenship. Sorry, I didn’t say that very well. mason
Nothing about this is difficult. They are not required to give any discount and it is your choice to take it or leave it. No need to complain about everything.
There are so much choices, where will I go or choose, what a way,but I’m definitely interested in some of them.
We are all so blessed to give and to receive. Thank you. Army Sgt Tkelly
I am grateful ? to be a Veteran that assisted and aided USA (Army)Military ?? during the times the Country called,So for the Businesses and Restaurant to Acknowledge this day for me and the rest of the Vets Thank U All. Specialist Jackson
as a viet nam vet I think veterans day should be honored by all lot of the young kids do not know what it means why we are free today ask then what it mean- they do not have a clue
Attempted to access discount at Amazon, but found nothing on their site. When I called customer service, they claimed no knowledge of any veterans discounts. Might want to check again…
Sports Clips does haircut upgrades for veterans and active duty.
“Do veterans get free haircuts on Veteran’s Day?
Sport Clips is a proud supporter of our country’s veterans and the Official Haircutter of the VFW. We encourage all stores to provide free haircuts on Veteran’s Day, but we do recommend verifying with the store. You can use our store locator to contact the store about their free haircuts for veteran’s policy.
Is there a military and/or first responder discount?
Many of our locations offer discounts for military and/or first responders, but discounts can vary in amount and by location. We recommend using our store locator to contact the store about their military/first responder discount.”
I get stuffed on veterans day and really appreciate the grub, my cooking ain’t so good. A Fixed income keeps me on the basic foods healthy but boring, it’s really great to get some restaurant food once a year. I like all the options makes me wish I still had my young man’s stomach. Any way here’s to all those veterans out there this day is for us.
Team, 2024, Amazon told me no discount at this time.
Travel centers of America do not participate this. The one in Greenwood,La said they don’t have anything to do with this. I was told this by the woman who was operating the cash register.
