In 2015, the VHA National Recruitment Program consultants and VHA subject matter experts will attend 19 National Health Care Events to help fill VA Health Care critical occupational needs. If you are a health care professional who plans to attend an upcoming conference in your field, there’s a good chance you will have an opportunity to talk to a VA National Recruiter and learn more about careers at VA!
A variety of health care professionals, health care advocates and health care sales representatives from across the nation regularly attend national health care conferences. Event activities range from seminars and lectures to presentations on the latest research and industry innovations. Many attendees use national events as an opportunity to network with healthcare professionals and complete continued medical educational courses, find out about new research, products and services while others are passively looking for new job opportunities.
If you’re planning on attending a health care conference this year, click here to view a list of the events that VA plans to attend. Finding us at the event isn’t difficult; each booth is strategically located in a high traffic area of the conference.
When attendees visit the VA booth during a National Conference, they have the unique opportunity to interact directly with consultants from the VHA National Recruitment Program. According to Crystal Waite, VHA Healthcare Recruitment and Marketing National Events Coordinator, this time is invaluable for potential candidates.
“They have direct access to someone who can answer their questions, provide point of contact information, discuss job availability, locations, employment requirements and benefits,” said Waite.
VA also uses social media to promote attendance at the conferences, and conference attendees can follow us on Twitter (@VAcareers) and search #workatVA. By following our account and #workatVA, you can learn about job openings, upcoming Twitter Chats and valuable hiring information in real time.
VA Careers has a variety of options for reaching out to health care candidates. If you are a health care professional interested in pursuing a career at VA, visit VAcareers.va.gov to learn more and apply. You can also view the Contact page for additional ways to connect.
