Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Army Veteran Lesly Johnson served from 2001 to 2004.
Lesly worked as a Quarter Master and chemical Equipment Repairer during her time in the Army and was stationed with the HHB 4/3 Air Defense Artillery in Kitzingen, Germany. Her unit deployed in 2003 and she stayed in rear detachment to assists them during their deployment.
After leaving the service, Lesly attended school using her GI Bill and obtain a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Elementary Education with a concentration in Special Education and Fine Arts from Felician College in 2014. She made the Dean’s Lists in her school for four consecutive semesters. Lesly is now employed at the Hackensack VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic, where she helps her fellow veterans with their earned benefits and other needs.
During her time in service, Lesly attained the rank of Sergeant and earned numerous decorations. Lesly also earned the Stakeholder Passaic County Distinguished Award and Passaic County Meritorious Award from her local county.
