Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Army Veteran Lissette Lister. Lissette served from 2004 to 2010.
Lissette served as a logistics specialist and was on active duty for six and a half years. She began her military career in the Puerto Rico Army National Guard, but decided to enlist in active duty and was stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Lissette deployed to Camp Arifjan, Kuwait in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2006 to 2007. Lissette received an Army Commendation Medal for her work in Kuwait. She monitored the maintenance and repairs for a fleet of over 100 pieces of transportation equipment on her own after her fellow soldier was injured.
Lissette is now a Detentions Deputy with the Weld County Sheriff’s Office in Weld County, Colorado. She is also passionate about serving her community through the American Red Cross and other organizations.
Thank you for your service, Lissette!
