Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Air Force Veteran Michael K. Lightning. Michael served from 1980-1984.
During his service, Michael served as an Air Force medic and would be stationed at Yokota Air Force Base in Japan and Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. He would also receive recognition for his marksmanship.
After his service Michael would pursue a career with the United States Post Office as a mail carrier. Upon retiring he would return to serving his fellow soldiers as a nursing assistant in the Cardiology Department of the VA in Northeast Ohio. Using his experience as a medic in the Air Force, Michael relates with his fellow veterans and helps to provide a personal atmosphere in the Cardiology Department. He is also an active minister at his local congregation.
Thank you for your service, Michael!
