The Veteran-led Boulder Crest Foundation uses the proven science of Posttraumatic Growth (PTG) to heal, train, and advocate for combat Veterans, first responders, and their families, who have experienced trauma.
Boulder Crest develops, delivers, and scales programs to ensure these Veterans transform struggle into strength and lifelong growth. More broadly, it works to drive change across the mental health system, in pursuit of a system that is accessible, effective and healthy.
Boulder Crest owns and operates two Posttraumatic Growth Academies, one in Arizona and one in Virginia. It focuses on innovative ways to approach PTSD and combat-related stress through programs like the Warrior Progressive and Alternative Training for Healing Heroes (PATHH).
Warrior PATHH is licensed to partners in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Maine. Through their Institute for Posttraumatic Growth, Boulder Crest focuses on innovation, curriculum development, and social and policy change.
During the COVID-19 facility shutdown, Boulder Crest switched to online platforms, including Facebook and Zoom, to connect with and support its alumni. It also launched an online Struggle Well training program (training.bouldercrest.org), which guides students through the process of Posttraumatic Growth.
Boulder Crest expects to re-open in mid-June, running its Warrior PATHH program in Arizona and Virginia, and through the Mobile Training Team. At present, it only accepts combat Veteran participants who can drive (distances of no more than 4 hours), are in good health, and are age 60 and below. It hopes to lift these restrictions in August or September.
MOA renewed
In April 2018, VA and Boulder Crest signed a two-year Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), and renewed it again recently for another two years.
The sharing of any non-VA information does not constitute an endorsement of products and services on part of the VA.
