Are you a Veteran with aspirations of entrepreneurship and business ownership? Do you need guidance to help you put your idea into action?
Warrior Rising is positioned to help you. A non-profit organization launched by Veterans for Veterans in 2015, Warrior Rising is dedicated to transforming Veterans into “Vetrepreneurs,” providing them opportunities to create sustainable businesses, perpetuate the hiring of fellow American Veterans and earning their future.
Warrior Rising’s next online course starts Nov. 30. This free Service-Disabled Veteran Entrepreneurs (SDVET) program includes four weeks of web-based instruction, followed by participation in other programs Warrior Rising offers (Warrior Academy, VETtoCEO, virtual-live coaching/mentoring sessions).
Course information (What)
- Introduction and overview of starting a business, as well as advantages to purchasing an existing business or starting a franchise.
- Identifying opportunities in business.
- Understanding markets and competitive space.
- Building your economic model.
- Legal entity structuring and insurance.

Sessions (When)
Virtual live sessions (via Zoom) will be at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT) on the following Thursdays: Nov. 30, Dec. 7, Dec. 14, Dec. 21.
The Zoom link will be provided to you by email two (2) business days prior to start of the sessions.
Important: Please ensure your information is correct when registering (especially email address). Please check your spam folder (or in some cases, if you have auto-routing rules set up for your email it may be bypassing your inbox altogether and going to trash or another folder you’ve set up in your email). It will be the same link for every session. Also, please be aware that our email provider also distributes newsletter and other information.
If you unsubscribe, you will not receive any messages, including the links for these sessions.
Qualifications
For verification, a DD-214 is preferred (Please blackline or cover your SSN), or other VA-issued ID. Class attendees must also provide documentation from VA showing disability (any disability rating is sufficient). The upload must be in the form of a PDF and you should minimize the file size (resolution) so it is less than 1 MB.
Current or widowed spouses of qualifying Veterans may also participate, but you must provide the required documentation above.
Interested Veterans must be pursuing a career as an entrepreneur/business owner at the concept or early stage of business development for this program.
Please note that while this particular program is funded for service-disabled Veterans, Warrior Rising has other programs available (Warrior Academy, VETtoCEO, coaching/mentoring) that any Veteran can participate in. More information can be found at www.WarriorRising.org, under the tab “What We Do.”
Apply (How)
Apply no later than 6 p.m. ET on Nov. 27, 2023, at Warrior Rising SDVET Program Registration. The next presentation of this course will be in March 2024.

I recently found out about this course, however it was too late to register. When will it be conducted again?
I really wanted to join this training but I was unable to go any further when trying to upload my DD214. apparently it’s more than 1MB but I have no clue how to compress it. is there an email or contact to be able to fix this issue and register? Please respond with an email asap because I tried since 11/25
Oh I would love to join this training but just seeing it. If by any chance I can still get in that would be awesome. I can get the info to you quickly.
Only available to those officially service-connected. Are there resources available for disabled vets injured in the line of duty, but not labeled as such by the VA?
Hello, How long will the sessions last? Thank you.
Is it only open to separated/retired members or can AD/AFR/ANG apply as well?
I was running my own business until I was treated for a colon disability. I have lost all bowel control and can no longer work. Thank you V.A
The VA is NOT the place to get serious health care. They found over 2000 doctors that were not licensed…
I called the number provided and they had no idea either so I submitted as best I could, hopefully my would be educators will figure it out and I can also rise. Thank You
Yeah hi, I’m “that guy”. if y’all really wanted to help a Vet you wouldn’t be so specific about your requirements. the type of business I am interested in has little to do with computers and I have no idea how to make my JPEG files into PDF’s. However I’m sure you have access to someone who could adjust your system to accept any form of file and include everyone and leave no one behind.
Hi James
if you email us the files, we will be happy to convert them for you. programming@warriorrising.org
You will then need to upload them and register on the site: https://forms.gle/hovzZrc5MojDDnCk9
Hey I’m trying to sign up for a startup business but I can’t provide my dd214 bc I don’t have it on my phone but I am a veteran
Hi Gerald. You will need to provide proof unfortunately. You can take a photo with your phone, email it to yourself and download it onto your computer and then upload to the registration site: https://forms.gle/hovzZrc5MojDDnCk9
I just received this email this morning and am very interested in the course material. When I tried to register it posted the message below. I expect it’s a mistake since the email is only hours old, but please let me know. Thank you.
