On Nov. 2, the VA Center for Women Veterans hosted its inaugural meeting with representatives from Veterans service organizations, military service organizations, and non-profit organizations. The meeting was held at VA’s Central Office in Washington, DC.
Representatives from approximately 19 partner organizations attended.
The purpose of the meeting was to engage with the groups to learn how they are working on behalf of women Veterans.
“This meeting gave us an opportunity to connect as a community and openly share information about services, upcoming campaigns, events and collaborative initiatives,” said Kayla Williams, director of the center. “We plan to meet regularly in order to facilitate more consistent communication about issues important to women Veterans and how we can address them collectively.”

I’m a female veteran that has been waiting for years for an increase of disability on my disability claim, after a diagnosis of PTSD after being out of the military for 18 years, I was diagnosed, so after I struggled for years with fear they finally gave it a name in 2014, I was glad to finally know what was wrong with me, but I had no idea of what else I would have to endure to receive an increase. Although I was in treatment for PTSD my claim was denied. I don’t understand this system. Where is the love, I did 15 years in the military and it doesn’t mean a thing. The system is broken please fix it.
