It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Congressman Walter Jones.
For over fifty years Congressman Jones and his father tirelessly represented the United States Marines at Camp Lejeune and Cherry Point and thousands of Veterans across eastern North Carolina.
Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert Wilkie notes, “I had the honor of working with my fellow North Carolinian and friend Walter Jones for thirty years. His love for the men and women who wore the uniform knew no bounds. He was a public servant of uncommon humility and decency. A man of his stamp will be missed.”
