Established Aug. 7, 1946, and staffing its first locations the following year, Veterans Canteen Service (VCS) has provided merchandise and services as a benefit to Veterans who are hospitalized or domiciled in VA facilities.

VCS provides merchandise and services essential to the comfort and well-being of VA’s Veterans, their families, and those who provide for their care in VA facilities.
