According to the Veterans Health Administration’s (VHA) Office of Veterans Access to Care, as of July 9, more than 3.24 million patients have received VEText messages and canceled 319,504 appointments, freeing up time slots for other Veterans to use.
VA will now remind all enrolled Veterans of their appointments by text. It’s called VEText, an interactive mobile solution that offers a quick and easy way to confirm or cancel appointments.
As of December, the VEText program became available for specialty appointments, but does \not replace the letters, postcards and automated phone calls Veterans already receive for appointment reminders.
