The advisory highlights “the public health crisis of loneliness” and notes that approximately half of U.S. adults reported experiencing measurable levels of loneliness, even before the pandemic.

Holidays can be a difficult time for many Veterans. Connecting with former service members can alleviate some of that stress and ward off loneliness.

Family members of Veterans are currently facing two challenges – supporting the Veteran they love with all they are thinking and feeling and coping with their own thoughts and feelings. VA has resources and information for both of these challenges.

Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) serves post-9/11 wounded warriors, their caregivers, and their families. Warriors never pay a penny for our programs — because they paid their dues on the battlefield.

The Elizabeth Dole Foundation’s Respite Relief Program provides FREE caregiving support to you, the Veteran, while giving your family caregiver a time for respite so they can run an errand, go for a walk, or simply relax. This free program is available to caregivers of pre and post 9/11 active-duty service members and Veterans. 

Due to Veterans from all eras reacting to the events in Afghanistan, such as withdrawal and take over by the Taliban, VA is working quickly to share resources, call center information, peer support and other community services.

The Veterans Coalition for Vaccination (VCV) mobilizes Veterans to deliver vaccines anywhere from the inner city to the most rural outpost in the U.S. and hopefully improve equitable access to vaccinations to all Americans, regardless of geographic or socioeconomic limitations.
