If you were exposed to toxic substances while serving in the military, a new law called the PACT Act may make you eligible for VA benefits and health care. The PACT Act will benefit millions of Veterans of the Vietnam War, Gulf War and post-9/11 eras who were exposed to toxic fumes, burn pits, Agent Orange, radiation and other environmental hazards. Survivors of toxic-exposed-Veterans—and Veterans who served in specific countries in Africa, the Middle East and Southwest Asia—are also potentially eligible.
During the week of December 10 to 17—the “PACT Act Week of Action”—more than 90 VA facilities around the country will be holding in-person town halls to provide information on what this historic law could mean for Veterans and their family members. There will be at least one event in all 50 states, as well as in Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia. We at VA want all eligible Veterans and survivors to apply for their PACT Act-related health care and benefits now.
Veterans in attendance can get help enrolling in VA health care or applying for VA benefits. Just bring any paperwork you have, like your DD214 or other military paperwork, to one of these town hall events listed below and then leave the rest to VA. If you can’t make it, visit VA.gov/PACT or call 1-800-MYVA411 to learn more about the PACT Act. VA benefits & claims representatives will also be in attendance to answer your disability and compensation questions.

I wish this was available closer to Camp Lejeune, NC, rather than a late afternoon scheduled 3-hour drive away.

Can Washington state better explain the when & where? For example, Everett, Olympia, and Silverdale are listed but doesn’t clearly provide information.
Our closest meeting is a good two hour drive one way and we would have to hire someone to take us but biggest problem is the day of meeting, tomorrow, I have doctor appointment at VA in Lexington, Ky., which is not the location of town meeting.
Any possibility that the Pact Act information will be on the VA .gov. portal, ZOOM or YouTube in the near future ? Some of the locations that are listed in my area or anywhere from 3 to 6 hours from my location.
Widows of veterans do not have access to the portal. How would you be contacting them?
I reside in Washington, D.C. Was the PACT event held for “only one day” Dec. 10 2022 at the Residence Inn or, also at the VA Medical Center on Irving Street? Because, the E-mail I received says: From Dec. 10 – 17 2022. This is “kind of misleading” ( to me ). So, is it for “only one day” or, through Dec. 17. Ted Black .

Why is Biloxi not on this list? Huge population here as well as the AFRH!
I’m in Germany, and is there anything plan for here or online? VA in K-town stated their no longer see retires or helping with paperwork.
Any plans for future town halls to assist vets in far west Texas? The nearest one to me next week is around six hours away, and nine hours away from vets in El Paso. How about a meeting at the Big Spring or El Paso VA facilities, even though they are 150 and 225 miles away respectively?
How about Guam? It will be nice to have one on Guam to cover all of the Pacific Area (Micronesia)
This country has a history of leaning on the Guard to fulfill their military missions and I see that the States with the active duty bases have the in-person town hall. There is not one active duty base in Oregon, and no in-person town hall in Oregon. Vancouver is not in Oregon. Your reserve troops and retirees do notices these slights.
One in northern Nevada at the Reno VA would be nice.
Are these available from a podcast or video? Some of us still work and can’t take of for 4 hours to attend in person.
Thank you!
I can’t see Oklahoma only having 1 meeting and in a location far from the major vet populations of Oklahoma city and Lawton, I have tried to register on website but if you don’t have the right dates or countries that are put in the system by VA or you have to have some cancer’s not symptoms of early stages of toxic exposure to get registered I served from 1976-95 in 77-79 PCB was found dumped on ft Bragg roadways in training area,82 and 86 fire fighting foam training, 83 burn pit for medical field unit Grenada, 85-86 Johnston Island Agent Orange, chemical agents, blood, nerve, blister, radiation exposure alpha particles from nuclear missile accident, many test for toxic agents kept classified were done but nobody knows by who, in the 90s drums of AO leaking in the ocean found by scuba divers, 90-93 NATO assignment gulf war in Turkey AMFL mission to protect the Kurds, burn pits for trash and human waste daily
I agree
Wisconsin has 2 Town Halls, both in the far southern part of the state. What about those of us that live in the north.
PP Planning!
Fort McClellan left out as usual SMH how sad
why dont they have one in the upstate of south carolina
Why the Washington DC town hall is not being held in the VA center?
Closest to me is 2 hours away. Might as well be on the moon.
This article seems to show that the VA doesn’t really care about helping us understand that, red tape, drag this out till they finally die off, Pact Act?
ONE location in North Carolina? The state where the Marine Corp hid behind a tort law for 30 years with their lies, deceit, and denial to hundreds of thousands of victims and you only have ONE location here? Here I was thinking that getting a land shark and suing would be a dishonorable act against my country? I figured the VA would have our back and address the issue responsibly? Boy was I stupid!
Poor form VA! Poor form. We expect better.
With a million or more folks within 18-20 miles of the Albuquerque VA hospital why is the Pact Act meeting at Highlands University in Las Vegas, NM, with a population of maybe 60,000 in the same radius?
Pretty sad that there are no events in Northern Virginia — They are all 3+ hours away.
Central Virginia — Richmond or Charlottesville.
I would have to drive 2 to 3 hours to participate. Why not the Middleton Memorial VA Hospital in Madison Wisconsin?
Hi. I wished the Leadership in the VA would lol at the State graphics on how many Veterans are in each State the divy up allocation of sites that way. I can 99% guarantee Kentucky has more Veterans than NH and more land mass to travel to our States site. For me. It’s a 6 hour round trip just to attend in Louisville.
Needless to say I will not be attending. Even looking at TN site it’s in Nashville. That’s still a 5 1/2 round trip.
Keep Veterans in mind when planning.
I looked through each States locations for these meetings and from my organizational, planning and execution of plans I’ve done in the past there’s definitely a better way the VA could host this event to get maximum participants to attend.
The Pacific area has become unimportant to the Veterans Administration where many veterans live and die without the V.A. ever taking them into consideration. It’s like serve, get disabled, then fade into oblivion. When will the V.A. Put Japan on its map of responsibility?
Local (Albuquerque, NM) VA contact told me that the Dec 14, 2022 Pact Act is in Las Vegas, NM, and not in Albuquerque as the above list indicates. Which location is correct for the meeting?
I wish the Vet Center in Johnson City TN would host a PACT ACT BREIFING. I live to far away from Nashville TN. I have been threatened to be sued by an individual who knows of my toxic exposure and doesn’t help me yet lives with me with 4 children. It makes life difficult. I am hopeful the Vet Center in Johnson City will see this request.
Will there be a Meeting for the GUAM. Veterans? I don’t see us on the list, we are interested in learning about benefits/entitlements under the PACT ACT as well.

Why is a town hall meeting only in 1 location in Tennessee
No Oregon ?!! Jimmy Counts
What are they going to roll out, more B.S. ??? Onboard VA listed ships in 1971, as posted by the VA as “EXPOSED A/O”!!! Have (2) Cancers surgically remove along with the Two organs relating to the exposure. 5 FIVE Heart Attacks, plus three additional surgeries to heart… Bladder left side surgery… Abdominal AORTA Aneurysm, Surgery (stent)… Oxygen 24/7, sleep apnea… Still experiencing stabbing pains to lower back… using a walker… With all these health issues, the Military Physicals would have had some questions about my health… WRONG these physicals listed me in perfect health, as I was. Total is 12 Surgeries!!! From perfect health to this!!! Of course the VA does NOTHING… they are hoping I will die off and they can continue to party!!! VA is a worthless tax burden to our citizens, making politicians very rich and happy!!!
I’m a Vietnam era vet that served as a DOD employee with our military in both Afghanistan & Iraq for over ten years and have been fighting parotta gland cancer since 2015, with not much hope left. Could I fall under the PACT ACT & if not what can be done to correct the problem?
Why no meetings on Zoom?
My husband started the Burn Pit forms a year before he passed away. I do have his emails when was communication with the other lawyer? How do I receive his benefits as his savior wife?
Not NEARLY enough meetings, or services offered. TWELVE meetings in Florida and nothing in Eastern Washington/ Northern Idaho/Western Montana? Inland Northwest Veterans cannot sustain the travel costs necessary to attend meetings so far away from where they live. Half-hour sessions? Get serious. Do better!
HOW DO I GET MY PLAQUE? THERE IS NO MENTION OF IT ON THIS WEBSITE EVEN THOUGH YOU ADVERTISED IT IN YOUR EMAIL TO ME.
My husband died in 2015 .he served in Vietnam for two years. And was exposed too anget orange. VA turned down my claim. Because his cancer was not there list. He had stage 4metastattic melanoma. Veterans of America. Agent orange cancer cells have spread beyond the skin.liver, lungs or brain and lymph nodes. If you want to call me on this matter I was also told that I don’t qualify for the pact act.
Why only a half hour at the salt lake va center
I’m a Vietnam veteran found out a couple of years ago that I had CLL cancer but was told I wasn’t qualified for benefits because my cancer was only stage 1. I was also told by the VA that I was exposed to Agent Orange, can I get pact act benefits from the VA if I apply?
If my husband died from a service connected disease and I’m already getting DIC, does that leave me out of the PACT Act?” He did 2 tours of duty in Viet Nam
I was sick in Houston Texas in 2010,and was told I had type2 diabetes in 2013,I started filling claims on my sickness of whatever I was diagnosed of at the VA hospital,In 2017,I became 100% total disabled,I’m 72 years of age and they tell me I am not diabetes, nor highblood pressure
Why is there not a town hall meeting in Richmond Virginia
My husband passed away 34 years ago from lung cancer after being aboard ships for several years. I did get his VA benefits but when I tried to fight for the compensation from the asbestos benefit I was told that the statue of limitation was three years. I had fought for my benefits through the VA and it was too late to file for the asbestos compensation. Would the PACT Act cover this?
Louisville KY is listed as Tuesday December 15th. That is incorrect. Which is it? Tuesday December 13th or Thursday December 15th?
I have always had fair and pleasant relationship with VA medical and look forward to attending the Town Hall and learning how PACT affects me.
Thank you.
Is there any meetings in VA Manila Philippines?
How come you can have a Pact Act meeting in Puerto Rico but not in GUAM, we are a US Territory too, and per capita, we had more combat deaths and more enlistments than any other place. It’s funny how GUAM always gets left out of EVERYTHING.
Are any of these going to include a live feed? Most veterans cannot afford to drive 10-14 hours round trip.
Why is the DC town hall being held in Maryland at a hotel on the Harbor, and not at the DC VA Medical Center??
This feels like some long-distance thievery to me. #WomanVet
So is Wyoming the only state that doesn’t have one? I see DC and PR on there but no Wyoming?

Why is Cleveland listed as the only site in Ohio. Columbus is in the center of the state not Cleveland. Is this so the presenter would not have far to drive. Veterans from Cincinnati, Columbus, all locations south of Cleveland will have to drive.
Why is Wyoming not in the list?

Does it surprise me that in CO instead of hosting at Rocky Mountain Regional Center in Denver where the majority of Coloradans go. You’re having it on the western slope where everybody would have to drive at least 5 hours to get there. BOOOO VA, but another reason VA shows they don’t give a damn about Veterans.
Many of those commenting need to “cowboy up” and quit whining. We have too many people holding their hand out wanting the government to take care of them. I don’t begrudge those who truly deserve their benefits but we have way too many who are “gaming” the system.
Very Good statement but it was to short so I have to babble on so I can post.
There should be more townhalls in places like New York City , New Jersey, Connecticut, & Pennsylvania and if possible on the weekends as well so more Veterans can attend and it doesn’t conflict with their VA Appointments?
Teddy Corral
You need to have a Town Hall Meeting in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. It’s Hard for a lot of vets to travel to either of the other two places.
I live in Rockport Tx will be televised are some way to keep in contact on the 12 ?
You should add Overseas VA Med Centers as well or other areas where large groups of American Veterans reside or gather for Meetings/Events.
That would be interesting!
What about those of us that are still serving overseas?
How do I get invites to Town Hall meetings in the Philippines?
There are service members in the Philippines, Guam and Korea, these should be listed. Mr. Stanton has a good question.
Where are the meetings for the vets who live in Wyoming?
Exactly, the only state that doesn’t have one.
What happened to Cheyenne WY???????????????????????
Or sheridan, Cody, Casper????

What about the Virgin Islands veterans? We served and were exposed too!!
I do not understand why there is only 1 hour scheduled for this event at The Fayetteville VA Hospital on 12 -14-22? If there a large crowd there will the VA workers stay till they have seen everyone? Most of the other states listed have more than one hour scheduled. Thank You….
Thanks for all opportunity.
My name is Edward A. Bassett & I am an ex Marine who was on Tour in Vietnam in 1969 & 1970. I was Exposed to Agent Orange and Assessed by the VA Medical Staff as 100% Disabled for this & PTSD. My son who is attending IE University an Approved VA University is being denied Full Education Benefits. I meet all requirements for a veteran who’s is 100% Disabled by a Service-Related Injury (AGENT ORANGE EXPOSURE).He is in his third year now and has bee given a Monthly Sustenance Assistance for the first two years (which we are grateful for) but it does not noter the Tuition he is entitled too.
Since the beginning of his 3rd year 2022 to 2023 his Sustenance Assistance has been cut off & he has not received this Sustenance Assistance for September, October, or November.
Instead of getting the improved Education Benefits he is being punished and does not even receive his Sustenance Assistance they promised him from the beginning. Each month that he does not receive this Assistance it costs me . I am on a Fixed Income and am 74 years old. It is very hard to pay for his tuition and fight with the VA for his (My) benefits that I earned while in the USMC & was Rated by the Medical Staff of the VA as 100% Disabled. Why can be done with these expanded PACT ACT Benefits to give us the Benefits we earned. I have asked these questions to the DBD & several other Regional Offices and still no answer. It seems to me that if they had an adequate answer for this question it would be easy to state. I live in the Philippines right now but I am a California Veteran. I have applied for the new PCP Home Care Provider Program and have been told that because I do not live in the USA, I do not qualify. I am the same Disabled Veteran with the same disabilities & same needs but because I live in the Philippines I do not qualify. I looked at the requirements and nowhere does it state that I must live in the USA.
I need answers.
Edward A. Bassett
Can you do one in San Francisco? I will host everything you need…
I’ve had balance problems for 40 yrs. Was, only injured twice in 30 yrs of employment. Hide my problem from employers. I, SERVED IN Thailand. Was a truck driver then became platoon Sargent. As platoon Sargent I spent most of my time in the Motorpool. My, platoon truck, s were on the perimeter where agent orange was sprayed. (Not known at the time. My, identical twin brother served at ft Polk his entire military career. He has none of my symptoms.
I HAVE 21 YEARS SERVICE, RETIRED WITH A LEGION OF MERIT AWARD.
I HAVE 6 YEARS FEDERAL CIVAL SERVICE AND 26 YEARS AS A DEFENCE CONTRACTOR.
I NOW LIVE IN AN AID AND ATTENDANCE HOME IN SAN ANTONIO
HOW DO I GET MY PLAQUE
The wording in the PACT ACT for Toxin exposure seems to include all toxin exposure, yet the VA is limiting presumptive service connection to limited inhalation from burn pits and depleted uranium, what about other toxin exposures? I was the Superintendent of a power plant in Tabuk, Saudia Arabia; one of the 5 bare bases set up for the invasion into Iraq from Feb 2003 to May 2003 and was Medevac’d out to Riad for multiple conditions which was never fully explained. The power plant was a mere 30 yards away from a hazardous waste dump with dead dogs around the site. CE did an environmental survey and was proposing to move tent city which was about 120 yards away to a further distance to provide safe exposure distance. Why are other extreme toxin hazard exposures not included in the VA’s presumptive service connection?
Is there an option to get these types of town halls conducted on military bases?
With the Pact act , cam Veterans with 100% permanent disability receive additional compensation without jeopardizing their present benefits, which the VA is known to Do regularly.
Don’t poke the bear.
What good is a town hall when the closest on is over a 2 hour drive to get to.
Good evening and to whom this may concern,
I attempted to be on the conference for the VA tonight, 30 Nov. at 1800, however my call did not connect when I answered the phone. I’m trying to find out if there is ANY way to be grouped in with another conference or benefits info call?
Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Jonah Cox

This is BS, Texas has 8 meeting and New York has 1? What’s wrong with this picture.
Have you seen how big Texas is?
But yes,,, it should be easier to attend these….. Zoom, Skype,,,,,there are easy ways for us to attend from home if only the VA would make it available under those formats.
