VA, in collaboration with non-governmental organizations, hosts a series of monthly job fairs across the country for service members and Veterans. Whether you are looking for a job or considering a change in career path, attending one of these fairs in-person or virtually can be an excellent way to start or advance your civilian job search.
These career fairs provide a venue for employers that are interested in recruiting military services members and Veterans, but also an opportunity for the job seeker to meet and interact with a wide array of employers at one time.
Job fairs present a chance to network with employers, strengthen interview skills, make new professional contacts, learn additional information about prospective employers and deliver your honed elevator pitch. Prior to attending an in-person or virtual event, review the list of all attendees and research the employers that are of interest to gain an understanding of their company profiles, mission and current openings.

Do these companies really hire veterans or is it all for show?
From the ones I have been to, the good jobs are mainly for show and the other 90% are jobs close to the respective base that even the locals don’t wanna work at. These group of jobs typically come with bad hours, low wages, and a terrible boss.
