On Tuesday, the nation’s largest veterans service organization, The American Legion, delivered the 2012 System Worth Saving Task Force Report to Congress. This survey of 25 Veterans Affairs Department medical centers by the American Legion finds the quality of health care to be “excellent” with recommendations to improve performance in hiring practices and women’s health services.
The survey is important for two reasons. One, it highlights the “drastic improvements” in patient satisfaction and quality-of-care practices over the past ten years. Second, this survey illustrates VA’s core values of commitment, excellence, people, communications and stewardship.
You will be seeing more articles on the survey in the mainstream media (View sample here). Also view the VAntage Blog on the topic.
The survey reflects VHA’s dedication to provide the very best health care to our veterans. We invite you to read the survey and to become a part of improving veterans’ health care.
