On Tuesday, the nation’s largest veterans service organization, The American Legion, delivered the 2012 System Worth Saving Task Force Report to Congress. This survey of 25 Veterans Affairs Department medical centers by the American Legion finds the quality of health care to be “excellent” with recommendations to improve performance in hiring practices and women’s health services.
The survey is important for two reasons. One, it highlights the “drastic improvements” in patient satisfaction and quality-of-care practices over the past ten years. Second, this survey illustrates VA’s core values of commitment, excellence, people, communications and stewardship.
