With Earth Day on the horizon, we invite you to read about VA’s commitment to sustainable eating and the professionals who bring that commitment to life.
From learning to cook and reducing food-related waste, to buying groceries directly from local growers, there are several ways to eat healthy while also taking care of the planet. Our organization teaches and demonstrates this to patients through offerings such as farmers’ markets and Healthy Teaching Kitchens at VA facilities across the country. What’s more, we have an outstanding Nutrition and Food Services team that includes:
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionists
- Food Service Workers
- Cooks
Together, these and other professionals deliver comprehensive, evidence-based nutritional services to Veterans and their families. Whether helping patients get their diets on the right track, serving meals that are both tasty and nutritious, or providing other guidelines, VA employees in this field help strengthen the Veteran community and the environment at the same time.
If you’re interested in making the world a better place with VA, explore our opportunities today.
