The Assistant Deputy Under Secretary for Health for Clinical Operations (ADUSH/CO) is a licensed physician organizationally responsible to the Deputy Under Secretary for Health Operations and Management (DUSHOM) in VHA Headquarters in Washington DC. The ADUSH will serve as the principal clinical executive between the DUCHOM, the Veterans Integrated Service Networks (VISN) and the field, and clinical program offices in VA Central Office.

The Chief Medical Informatics Officer (CMIO) reports to the Executive Director of Health Informatics, Office of Informatics and Information Governance (OIIG) in VA Central Office, Washington, DC. This position will be integral to VHA programs that provide patient-centered health care to Veterans. OIIG will provide advanced and secure enterprise data systems and web communications that facilitate evidence-based decisions for individual Veterans and their families, patient populations, clinicians, and those managing healthcare delivery systems.

The Assistant Deputy Under Secretary for Health for Quality, Safety and Value in the Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of Organizational Excellence (DUSHOE) provides national leadership in the formulation and establishment of effective health care policies, programs, operational infrastructures, and initiatives that fulfill the VHA mission to provide high quality, safe, high-reliability care for veterans. The incumbent strategically plans, directs, coordinates, and evaluates VHA’s national Quality, Safety and Value programs in a manner that reflects health care industry trends toward the creation of a high reliability organization (HRO) and in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards. The incumbent must have executive level leadership, analytical and strategic management skills. These skills include a clear demonstration of systems-level improvement and sustainment of organizational processes, governance, technology capabilities, and ultimately, health care outcomes in quality and safety.

    I’m a retired Guidance Counselor/Teacher with over 30 years of experience .

    Would be interested in a position with the V A if there is a comparable job which I would be qualified for in my residential area .
