Don’t miss your opportunity to ask our recruiters any questions you may have about our hiring process. Once you get the answers you need, we encourage you to pursue a career with us, which will include outstanding benefits, access to groundbreaking research, and the freedom to practice at any VA facility in the country with only one active state license. I’m a social worker at the masters level looking to relocate and transition to the VA. I am currently residing in the Washington, DC area. Any suggestions on the selection process for social workers? What I should do to stand out from other applicants? Thus far all positions that I have seen require a clinical social work license. I’m feeling discouraged.

Paula Chandler-Paramore,
You posted your credentials, that you’re a Retired GS-11 Computer Specialist and that you’d like to re-enter Federal Service. I’m certain, with your credentials, you’ll be a much needed addition to the VHA’s Mental-Health Services!
I say, “Please go for it as they’re VERY understaffed!” I hope you’re Blessed with a life-long, fulfilling career providing our Nation’s Veterans with our mental healthcare needs…
