Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, California. Set in the middle of the Point Loma peninsula looking out toward the Pacific Ocean to the west and Coronado Bay to the east, Fort Rosecrans is the final resting place for over 116,000 Veterans and eligible family members.

On April 11, 2019, staff members from Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System battled the Arkansas Rollin’ Razorback wheelchair basketball team in an exhibition game.
The Arkansas Rollin’ Razorback is a team within the National Wheelchair Basketball Association and it is not their first time in our Arkansas facility. In 2018 of April, the Arkansas Rollin’ Razorback also made an appearance taking on our staff members during Paralyzed Veterans Awareness Month.

Jennie Tate, recreation therapist, leads U.S. Army Veteran Michael Lynch and U.S. Marine Corps Veteran Lohrke Armstrong in a yoga class held at Fort Worth VA Outpatient Clinic. Yoga class is just one of many classes offered to our Veterans through recreation therapy within VA North Texas Health Care System.
The mission of the Recreation Therapy Service is to integrates function, quality, and meaning to one’s life through active therapy and meaningful therapeutic activities to maintain or improve independence and life quality.

Construction of the facility is expected to be complete in June 2021 and will replace the Ernest Childers VA Outpatient Clinic, Tulsa VA Behavioral Medicine Clinic and Tulsa VA Dental Clinic.

During their telehealth session, South Texas VA Registered Dietitian, Kendra Keith, shows off the progress of her patient, Dwayne Portner, who lost 137 pounds since joining the Weight and Diabetes Management Program. The South Texas VA was awarded a grant to bring several clinical specialties under one umbrella, the only one of its kind in the VA Healthcare System. Dietetics is one facet of the program. Portner says telehealth is really convenient for him, and described losing the weight as life changing, and it enables him to do more of his favorite activities like motorcycle riding.
VA Telehealth Services uses health informatics, disease management and telehealth technologies to target care and case management to improve access to care, improving the health of Veterans. VA Telehealth offers video Telehealth, home Telehealth, and Store-and-Forward Telehealth to readily help Veterans in need.
