State Senator Luis Sepúlveda (shown right) inducted Joe Bello into the New York State Senate Veterans Hall of Fame this May.
“Proud to have honored Joe Bello with an induction into the New York State Senate Veterans’ Hall of Fame,” saidState Senator Luis Sepúlveda, in a tweet. “A decorated and devoted veteran who has served in the U.S Navy and has become an advocate for Veterans’ rights.”
Bello, a Navy Veteran, has been a regular fixture at Veteran events across all five boroughs of New York City for over twenty years.
In addition to his leadership role with the Community Veterans Engagement Board, Joe currently serves as a member and current Secretary of the New York City Veterans Advisory Board, and serves on the Board of Directors for the two James J. Peters VA Medical Center Fisher Houses that recently opened to serve Veterans and their families visiting the Bronx facility.
According to an announcement from the New York State Senate, the New York State Senate Veterans’ Hall of Fame was created to honor and recognize outstanding veterans from the Empire State who have distinguished themselves both in military and civilian life. Their meritorious service to our nation deserves the special recognition that only a Hall of Fame can provide.
Mr. Bello’s commitment to New York’s Veterans, their families, caregivers, and providers embodies the selfless service that is a hallmark of the profession of arms.
