VHA Innovation Ecosystem’s (VHA IE) goal, through mission-driven innovation, is to deliver world-class care to all Veterans. This is a goal that is being achieved everyday through VHA IE’s partnership with industry, government and academia.
At this year’s virtual VHA Innovation Experience (iEX), Oct. 27-29, attendees will hear powerful stories of partnership directly from VA collaborators through the iEX Talks. This TED Talk-style speaker series provides industry partners with a platform to showcase innovations that challenge our beliefs, stir the imagination, and – most importantly – demonstrate real value and impact for Veterans, VHA employees, academia and other industry partners. These ten compelling, powerful and personal stories of setbacks and success convey the inspirational experiences behind each innovation and further demonstrate VHA IE’s commitment to improving Veteran care.
Tuning into the iEX Talks will allow attendees to view how:
- Dr. Jon Bloom of Podimetrics has been working alongside VHA IE to implement the innovative, remote technology, SmartMat, which uses real-time data monitoring to enhance access to care for hard to reach and underserved Veterans and ultimately prevents amputations.
- Zaneta Adams, Director of Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency, created the Military Sisterhood Initiative, a national peer support network of, and for, women of the military to connect and create a partnership for personal growth, purpose, and fulfillment.
- Dr. Osamah Choudhry and Medivis are changing how complex surgeries are executed, allowing any VA surgeon to utilize 3D holographic augmented reality to precisely plan every step of an operative procedure and train future clinicians and patients.
- Dallas Blaney of Challenge America has worked alongside VHA IE to tackle challenges health care workers face due to COVID-19 through the COVID-19 Maker Challenge series, which has already resulted in the testing and implementation of multiple innovations at facilities across VA.
There are many more stories to discover during the iEX Talks and even more to experience throughout the entire event. Through panels, discussions, the VHA Shark Tank Competition, and more, iEX allows Veterans and the public to discover how VHA is using innovation, partnership, and technology to change and save Veteran lives. With a focus on partnership, iEX will show how VA is working alongside the health care community to deliver more, together.
Do not miss a moment of iEX 2020. Register today to receive access to the event platform and app the moment they launch! Mark your calendars for Oct. 27-29!
