The decorated VA Fisher Houses are lifting the spirits of Veteran inpatients, their families and VA staff visiting the VA Hospitals, adding a little joy and sparkle of the season during very challenging times. Providing temporary accommodations, “a home away from home” at no cost for the family members/caregivers of hospitalized Veterans and Active Duty service members is the organization’s ongoing mission.

Veterans and Active Duty service members may receive accommodations in VA Fisher Houses during an outpatient episode of care if accommodated by a family member/caregiver and are medically stable. There are 49 VA Fisher Houses located at 41 VA facilities. There are 91 Fisher Houses internationally.
Despite decreased occupancy as a result of facility visitor restrictions due to COVID-19, Fisher Houses continue to provide support for Veterans, their families and caregivers.
