What you’ll be doing
Our HR team supports our mission in many ways, offering a variety of roles for you to pursue in your VA career. Much of the work begins face-to-face with the people around you.
You might find yourself working directly with recruiters to secure top-tier talent for the agency. Or you might support employees by addressing labor relations or acting as a mediator between management and staff.
HR specialists can also tackle much broader topics, applying a more top-down perspective to how we manage our employees. Recent efforts throughout the federal employment system have seen senior leaders address changes to the workforce, and some HR specialists support efforts to restructure employee management or simply help teams adjust to new responsibilities.

- Clearly define a problem and probe at the root causes
- Use technology to your advantage
- Develop your listening and communication skills

- Produce well-written and effective reports that communicate useful information
