How do you hold an exciting and engaging event for Veterans, health care experts, innovators, and the public online? The VHA Innovation Ecosystem (VHAIE) will address that question at this year’s VHA Innovation Experience (iEX). The event’s traditional venue, the National Press Club, is limited by the pandemic in the amount of people that can be present in person. Luckily, like the innovators it supports, VHAIE was ready to pivot.
Through the Socio event platform, the third annual iEX will be held virtually. Broadcast live from the National Press Club from Oct. 27-29, the event will feature all the incredible speakers, panels, presentations, and exhibits from previous years. But this year will be online, providing a way for Veterans and the public across the country to discover how VA is delivering more, together.
Socio
Socio is easy to navigate and can be accessed online and through a downloadable mobile app. Through it, attendees will not only be able to watch the event through a livestream, but chat with other participants and speakers. A social wall will allow participants to share ideas, images, and more as they discover the innovative health care practices and partnerships that are changing the way VA cares for Veterans. Question and answer and polling features allow audience members to participate in popular events, like the VHA Shark Tank Competition and iEX Talks.
Even more exciting, attendees can tour a virtual exhibit hall where VHA innovators and private sector partners work alongside VA. The exhibit hall allows participants to demonstrate their work, discuss how it is impacting Veterans, and network with attendees. Those taking part can easily reach out to exhibitors, take a deep dive into the work they are doing, and find useful information on their programs.
Networking
Of course, the biggest part of any in-person event is the chance to talk to and network with others. That same feeling will be available during the virtual iEX. Through a unique shake-to-connect tool, attendees will be able to shake their phones and discover who is engaging in the same events as they are from hundreds of miles apart. With this, attendees will be able to engage with exhibitors, as well as each other. By developing a profile, each attendee can share information on their interests and work, then when they connect with someone through chat or by shaking their phone, they can easily reach out.
Don’t miss a moment of the VHA Innovation Experience 2020. Register today to receive access to the event platform and app the moment they launch! Mark your calendars for October 27-29!
