First Lady Michelle Obama recently honored female Veterans at a Women’s History Month reception at the Capitol. Not only did the reception pay tribute to retired Air Force Brig. Gen. Wilma L. Vaught – the first woman in the comptroller career field to reach the rank of brigadier general – but it also brought a spotlight on issues facing women who have served in uniform. Often they are mistaken for the spouses of Veterans, and many aren’t aware of their eligibility for VA benefits. Watch the video below and learn about some of the frustrations of Katie Holt, a former army specialist who is now the director of communications for the I Got Your 6 foundation.
Women in uniform “still face plenty of challenges as they serve this country and then transition back to civilian life,” Mrs. Obama told the guests at the reception.
Fortunately, many organizations are looking out for female Veterans, including VHA. We provide high-quality, comprehensive health care services in a sensitive and safe environment at VA health facilities nationwide. We strive to be a national leader in the provision of health care for women, thereby raising the standard of care for all women.
If you want to help all Veterans, consider a career with VHA. As the largest health care system in the U.S., the career opportunities are endless – and you’ll experience the fulfillment that comes with caring for the brave men and women who have served our country. Find out more and Join VA.

Why do the Obamas “pretend” to care so much abt veterans & the military, yet do so little to help us, & at the same time cut the numbers, & therefore, the strength of the greatest fighting forces of the greatest country IN THE WORLD???!!
Actually do a check fact. The military isn’t smaller. Everyone says that during an election but this is just not factual.
