If you’re looking for the chance to serve America’s Veterans—and have a passion for the great outdoors—then a career at one of our Montana facilities may be the right fit for you. To help you decide, we spoke with one of our National Healthcare Recruitment Consultants, Tim Blakney, about the benefits of being on our team in this region.
What are some advantages to living in Montana?
It’s a nice change of pace from city life. Many of our locations here are in rural areas, so you’ll enjoy lower housing costs, less traffic and pollution, and a greater feeling of safety and security in your community. Plus, you can do a wide range of outdoor activities, like skiing, rafting, hiking and fishing.
Why would someone join VA instead of another hospital in the state?
In addition to offering outstanding federal benefits, VA is committed to a healthy work-life balance for employees. Most of our open positions will work a standard schedule, with weekends and holidays off and usually no on-call responsibility. Also, our care providers see fewer patients per day than they would in the private sector. This gives you the extra time you need to deliver the personalized, high-quality treatment our Veterans deserve.
What are your current hiring needs?
Opportunities are available at all 12 of our outpatient locations throughout Montana, including Billings, Missoula, Hamilton, Great Falls and Fort Harrison (Helena). I’m specifically looking for primary care providers, nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Together, we will build on VA’s commitment to serving those who’ve served our country.
