Volunteering is a great way to give back to the Veterans who’ve given so much for our country. That’s one of the many reasons why VA created the Physician Ambassador Program.

Through this initiative, fully licensed medical, surgical and mental health professionals volunteer to deliver and improve treatment for our patients. This involves close collaboration with VA employees—a partnership that strengthens every day with the continuous sharing and implementation of best practices. Together, we are driving advancements, such as increased access to rural and urgent health care and emergency medical services.

Opportunities are available in various specialties, including:

• Cardiac Care
• Emergency Medicine
• Primary Care
• Mental Health

Although the positions are unpaid, you’ll gain valuable experience that will help you grow your career. What’s more, you’ll enjoy the unmatched fulfillment that comes with serving those who’ve served our nation.

If you’re interested in volunteering with this program, please reach out to the Voluntary Service Office at the VA medical center nearest you. Contact information can be found here.
