To move rehabilitative care forward for Veterans, innovation is essential. That’s why we hire creative, ambitious and tech-savvy professionals at our Advanced Platform Technology (APT) Center in Cleveland.

Within this Center of Excellence for Rehabilitation Research and Development, employees are creating assistive and restorative technologies for patients disabled by sensorimotor dysfunction, cognitive deficits and limb loss. It’s a great way to give back to the people who’ve given so much for our country. If you’d like to do the same, consider becoming part of the team.

Our R&D and translational programs focus on:

Prosthetics and Orthotics
Wireless Health Monitoring and Maintenance
Neural Interfaces
Enabling Technologies

In turn, we have many unique and challenging projects to work on, including the development of new materials and microsystems for interfacing with the nervous system, monitoring vascular health, and restoring organ system function. No matter how you contribute, you’ll help improve quality of life for Veterans while continuously advancing your career.

I think this is a great move to cater more towards veterans. Using technology should be positive, and it seems to be having a more negative impact recently.

I am a 70% service connected Vietnam Vet. My wife is 79 and has Medicare Advantage. One of the benefits is called Silver Sneakers. For $50 a year she can join one of the Fitness centers in our area and have unlimited use of their facilities including swimming and exercise. Can the VA look into setting up something similar for us older Vets? I just turned 70 and would love to have a fitness club membership but I can’t afford the $35 to $50 a month to join. Something like this would be a great blessing for us older veterans. And a great help when it comes to lowering stress, levels. Thank you.
