This Memorial Day, we remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our country. It’s a tradition that dates back to the Civil War, formerly known as Decoration Day—when friends and family spent the day decorating the graves of their loved ones lost in battle. Today, it’s a time we all come together to pay tribute to the nearly two million Americans who gave their lives in service. There are many simple ways to show your support, whether you wear a red poppy or fly the American flag at half-staff. And don’t forget to pause at 3:00 p.m. local time and take a minute to silently reflect during the National Moment of Remembrance.

Though Memorial Day comes once a year, the employees at VA honor the memory of our fallen heroes daily as they strive to deliver the highest quality care and services to Veterans and their families. As you observe this holiday, consider a future giving back to Veterans. Your hard work and passion could help our Veterans lead healthier, happier lives. In turn, you’ll experience a uniquely fulfilling career with limitless opportunities to grow and thrive. To get started, explore our open positions and apply today.
