Did you know that there are 3.5 million post-9/11 Veterans nationwide, and that 250,000 more service members will leave active duty this year to join them? These Veterans often face isolation, lack of physical fitness, and a lack of purpose in a world that doesn’t understand the military.
Team Red, White & Blue’s mission is to enrich the lives of America’s Veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity. Utilizing a nationwide network of chapters, Team RWB hosts and participates in events designed to bring veterans together and engage in the communities where they live and work.
Whether it’s workouts, races, social activities or community service projects, Team RWB members, also known as Eagles, support each other through shared values and experiences; there’s probably an RWB chapter near you.
Joining Team RWB is easy
Visit the Team RWB homepage to sign up. New members also receive a free Team RWB Nike t-shirt ($5 shipping and handling charge). New eagles are also quickly connected to their local chapter to learn about upcoming local activities. More than 160K Veterans, their families, and non-military supporters have already joined Team RWB.
Team Red, White & Blue is a nonprofit founded by Veterans working to solve the epidemic of loneliness through physical activity. Team RWB is the bridge connecting communities where Veterans and civilians work together to gain common understanding.
Team RWB takes the best of military service–the camaraderie and physical challenges–and creates a new family of Eagles connected through physical activity.
“Staying active both physically and socially is key for a lot of Veterans, especially those who have been wounded, ill or injured,” said Tampa VAMC Chief of Recreation and U.S. Army Veteran Geoff Hopkins. “It’s very important for those Veterans with ‘invisible wounds,’ such as PTSD, to engage in activities in the community, to draw them out of their dark places and get them interacting with others.”

Get some Adidas shirts and then we’ll see.
I was pretty upset I missed the swoosh on the shirt, there’s one on the back and front and the back one is way bigger than the front.
I got most of it off with acetone, and got a latex iron on flag, Stars and Stripes, to iron over it (which cost more than the shirt) so I may wear it out and about just to get a chance to talk about Nike treason supporters. You hear Kapernick nixed a Betsy Ross design Nike had set to come out? ‘Cause it might be offensive?
So if you have a RWB shirt with a swoosh but you want to disavow Nike politics, carefully use a little acetone in a well ventilated area or just get creative with your own protest, and put a circle with a slash over it, for example.
As far as the organization is concerned, I have no interest in supporting a Nike operation, and it’s typical for the tone deaf VA to set up and support this franchising effort.
Resist Wrong-minded Blame
The concept sounds all right, I like getting free tee shirts, but $5 is not free. Without the Nike logo, it is about veterans, with the Nike logo on the shirt, it is advertising! Brings to mind the post circulating on Facebook that shows Colin K hanging back on a landing craft as soldiers and Marines are making a landing and he says, “You guys go ahead,…”
Nike?? … Humm
Think I’ll wait this out before joining. See where my Fellow veterans go with this…
If Nike is involved, I would caution everyone to research the intent of the corporation. Nike will support anything that supports Nike including child slave labour, taking a knee during the National Anthem, moving business off-shore to increase profits and decrease U.S. employment, etc…
Be careful…
Am I correct, Nike is somewhat involved in this? If so, count me out.
What’s on the back of the t-shirt? All that is shown is the front.
If you start a chapter what kind of support from the organization do you receive?
What do they do with the money that they collect and get from sponsors?
was excited until you mentioned the flag kneeling nike corporation………
You anti-kneelers are missing the point. It’s not disrespecting the flag, it’s respecting—the right to respect as a citizen of this nation, especially african americans—Many, many who have served their country just like you.
I disagree with you. Any US citizen that kneels during the playing of the National Anthem are insulting the Country. Period. No exception. No excuse.
Ahh, but with the right approach, you can counter their message. Assuming my comment makes it through moderation, see above.
As a former member of this organization, I can in no way endorse this organization for fellow veterans as their focus is not on “enriching veterans lives”, but rather sales and promotion of their brand. They simply are not fulfilling their mission as charged.
Thank you John, for sharing your experience. The more I started looking into the organization, the more I got that feeling. I appreciate you confirming my suspicions. Stay safe out there.
Free shirt to me is free not 5 dollars shipping I can buy 5 dollar t-shirts kinda seem like a scam
I do like idea of organization non the less I need to get more social outside of family.
The first $5 shirt has lasted us over 3 years .. they are made to last and worth $5 … it is so worth it!!!

I wouldn’t support anything that Nike is involved with

I almost joined until I saw the T-shirt is a Nike product. I have sworn to never buy or own another Nike product after they hired Colin Kaepernick as a spokesman and tried to make him a hero for his disrespect of our national anthem. You should be ashamed to put their products on a veteran.
Is this group for all vets regardless of age or physical status?
Yes! All veterans are welcome.
Opinions are like backsides, one to a customer and most stink. They are disrespecting the flag and the nation. You can come up with any excuse but as my ol’ daddy used to say, “In order to hide behind something, you have to make yourself smaller than it is.”

Your dates are incorrect for the dates of the challenge. It reads July 17-July 4…it should read JUNE 17 – July 4 under the 1776 Challenge.
Is Team RWB only open to post 9/11 veterans. Are there similar organizations for Vietnam Era veterans?
Is there an age limit? Is it open to all vets?
