With the end of this year’s recruitment season near at hand, our recruiters will be participating in a pair of upcoming events to recruit new members to our VA team.
Whether in-person or virtual, our recruiters look forward to seeing what you have to offer and telling you more about what it means to work at VA.
Join us virtually in New Orleans
We will be hosting a virtual career fair for the Southeastern Louisiana region on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021. This event is specifically geared toward registered nurses (RNs) and licensed practical nurses (LPNs) seeking careers with Southeast Louisiana Veteran Health Care System in New Orleans.
During the event (which is open to U.S. citizens only and requires pre-registration), you can talk directly with VA hiring officials in the field via voice or video chat. This is a perfect opportunity to find out more about the requirements for jobs at VA, as well as the many openings immediately available for RNs and LPNs in medical and surgical units, intensive care units, emergency rooms, IV teams, and inpatient mental health and ambulatory care units.
Whether you’re interested in a career in Southeastern Louisiana or at any of our 1,255 facilities, our recruiters will be able to help.
Watch what happens live in Atlanta
Join VA at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta from Dec. 11-13, 2021, as our recruiters set up shop at the 63rd annual American Society of Hematology (ASH) meeting and exposition.
With more than 18,000 members from nearly 100 countries, ASH is the world’s largest professional society serving both clinicians and scientists around the world who are working to conquer blood diseases. The society’s mission is to further the treatment and prevention of disorders affecting blood and bone marrow by promoting research, clinical care, and training.
While attendees can register for either the in-person meeting in Atlanta or the virtual meeting, VA recruiters will be in the building for anyone interested in learning about what the country’s largest health care system has to offer.
Our mission, your benefits
No matter where you find us, VA has a lot to offer our employees. In fact, we’re one of the top large employers in the nation.
Our mission – serving those who have served our country – means a lot to our team, but we provide a range of benefits to make your career even better.
Just as we offer exceptional health care to our Veterans, we offer extensive insurance options for our employees. You can choose from a variety of health maintenance organizations or fee-for-service health plans, and all cover preexisting conditions.
If you’re looking toward the future, you can also take advantage of our retirement packages. VA employees have access to the Thrift Savings Plan, which allows employees to tax-defer a portion of their income each year. The government automatically contributes 1% of your salary, with additional matching contributions up to a total of 5%.
Additionally, we offer flexible schedules. Our employees receive 13 to 26 paid vacation/personal days, as well as 13 sick days annually with no limit on accumulation. We also celebrate 11 paid federal holidays each year.
