Choose a career based on giving back and bring strategic change to Veterans’ healthcare by applying to become a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) medical center Executive Director.
Applicants with medical or administrative backgrounds in eight cities are invited to apply for the jobs. Executive Directors plan and organize medical facilities’ administrative, operations, policies and procedures and establish the vision and strategy to improve facility-level care, outcomes, community partnerships and more.
Eight positions are open in Beckley, West Virginia; Denver, Colorado; Fargo, North Dakota; Hampton, Virginia; Northport, New York; Saint Cloud, Minnesota; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Syracuse, New York.
“These seasoned healthcare leaders make sure Veterans who seek care at their community-based VA receive safe, timely and quality care,” said Darren Sherrard, Associate Director of Recruitment and Marketing at VA. “As VA transforms into a high-reliability organization, Executive Directors lead the way in delivering and sustaining VA’s excellence at the local level.”
Executive Directors oversee hospital services, outpatient clinical services and advanced specialty care. Reporting to the Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) Director for their region, they are responsible for the effective and financially sound direction and operation of medical centers.
The position provides a competitive salary and a wide array of benefits, including medical and dental insurance and generous leave policies. Executive Directors can participate in the federal retirement system. These jobs may offer Permanent Change of Station or relocation benefits to qualifying applicants.
