A VA study demonstrates a promising, potential relationship between employee engagement and customer satisfaction.

Registration for the National Veterans Summer Sports Clinic (NVSSC) opens on Dec. 1, 2023, and runs through March 1, 2024. The 2024 NVSSC will take place August 25-30 in San Diego, California, offering an extended opportunity for Veterans to partake in adaptive sports.

Ambassador Athletes are Veterans or active-duty military who compete in pro or amateur sports to help support their mental health. Currently, there are about 25 Ambassador Athletes, most of whom have been diagnosed with some form of PTSD. They may also be experiencing depression, anxiety, and drug and alcohol addiction.

VA Secretary Denis McDonough is sharing an important message during International Fraud Awareness Week from Nov. 12-18, 2023, to raise awareness and provide Veterans tips to stay safe from predatory behavior of “claim sharks.” Claim sharks are professionals that use aggressive tactics through the mail, telephone and online tools to take advantage of Veterans, their families, caregivers and survivors.

Foreign governments and companies are targeting and recruiting U.S. and NATO trained military talent to train foreign militaries or to fill gaps in their military capabilities. 

The National Park Service (NPS) will host a variety of special events and provide free entrance to everyone on Saturday, Nov. 11 to commemorate Veterans Day.

In a special town hall event on Wednesday, Nov. 8, VA Secretary Denis McDonough addressed the top requested concerns from Veterans and their families, caregivers and survivors.

Fisher House Foundation has awarded Dream Foundation’s Dreams for Veterans program the prestigious 2023 Fisher Service Award in recognition of its innovative and positive impact on the nation’s heroes and their loved ones. As part of the award, Dream Foundation also received a $90,000 grant and a $50,000 advertising package from the Military Times Foundation.

In honor of Veterans Day, Ramsey Solutions will offer up to 10,000 Veterans free financial wellness training and advice through its nine-week Financial Peace University (FPU).

With the rising popularity of online gaming, more and more Veterans and active-duty military members are playing video games daily together. Veterans form online gaming communities through platforms such as Discord chat, hang out and play games, both casually and competitively. Online gaming communities such as Stack Up’s Discord often become a safe haven to get away from life’s difficulties and everyday problems.
