U.S. Mint is issuing a World War I Centennial silver dollar. The coin, and its companion silver medals, will be available to purchase at noon Eastern Time, on Wednesday, Jan. 17.

More than $6,500 worth of gifts were collected during this year’s campaign at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center, ensuring every child had a gift to open this holiday season.

Honor suffered an injury at birth and has lived with a prosthetic leg ever since. In January, she will begin visiting with Veterans on a full-time basis.

Hope can be elusive in the face of reality, but in this case, hope came in the form of VA North Texas and social worker whom this Army Veteran calls his guardian angel.

The conference, organized by the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs, provided an opportunity to build relationships between the administration, state, local, and tribal leaders who are leading efforts to better serve Veterans.

This announcement represents the latest example of VA’s commitment to working closely with nonprofit organizations and other community partners to identify new and innovative ways to support Veterans’ health and well being.

VA is seeking interest from potential partners who want to support efforts to build world-class health-care facilities for America’s Veterans.

Narrated by actor and filmmaker Tom Hanks, the announcement calls on the public to take notice and action by reaching out to a Veteran who may be in crisis.

Currently, VA hosts at least 165 free legal clinics in its VA medical centers, community based outpatient clinics and Vet centers across the country by partnering with external, legal-service providers, such as local bar associations, legal-aid organizations and law school clinics.
