VHA Innovation Ecosystem collaborated with Veteran non-profit Challenge America on a series of five COVID-19 Maker Challenge events that brought innovators from across the country together.
The first COVID-19 Maker Challenge make-a-thon took place in early May and focused on challenges facing first responders like police, emergency responders, firefighters and others.
Veterans will continue to see improvements in VA services, VA Secretary Robert Wilkie said at “State of the VA” speech Feb. 5 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. These improvements for Veterans include increased innovation—including the VA’s first 5G hospital—along with decreased wait times for appointments and better overall care.
Customer service, stability and quality care for Veterans remain top priorities for VA Secretary Robert Wilkie. He reinforced that while visiting VA medical facilities and attending national Veteran engagements in three states last week.
