Honoring Vets

Being a Marine taught me the importance of giving back. But my last mission may be my most crucial: instilling the same values in my son.

Rob Jones said he decided to run 31 marathons in 31 days in different cities throughout the country to dispel the belief that if a Veteran comes home from a deployment with a psychological or physical injury that they’re somehow broken.

The nation rallied that day, and in the years since, with a special sense of purpose and duty to protect our fellow Americans from further attacks.

Hero’s Welcome volunteers not only discuss military experiences and provide information about VA resources, they also try to ensure Veterans are getting the best care possible.

At every point of the way, as we waited or were speaking to someone, it was apparent that these workers deeply believed in their mission to honor and serve those that served our country.
