Veterans in New Albany can now get their medical and mental health services all in one place, thanks to VA’s recent relocation from two buildings on Northgate Boulevard to one on Security Parkway. With over 15,000 square feet and an additional 5,000 on the way, the new space will more than double the size of the previous locations.
The clinic is built around two open-concept workplaces – one with just medical professionals, and the other with both medical and mental health providers. This facilitates our Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model of treatment, a collaborative approach that addresses the overall health and well-being of every individual we serve. Each PACT has a doctor, nurse, licensed practical nurse and medical support assistant, and all their desks are clustered together to increase communication among the team. It’s one of the many ways we’re working to maximize efficiency and effectiveness to continually improve the experience of our patients and employees.
