On International Women’s Day, today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Army Veteran Susan Kellett-Forsyth, who was in the first class of women at the U.S. Military Academy.

Today at age 56, Atkinson is fighting another battle—this time a case of aggressive prostate cancer. Thanks to treatment at the VA Portland Health Care System, his condition has improved dramatically in recent months through precision oncology—the molecular profiling of tumors to identify targetable alterations that can be treated therapeutically. Most recently, his PSA level had plummeted to 0.2, after a high of 115 in December.

Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Army Veteran Laura Bozeman, a human resources officer who taught English at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

While in the Army, Sarah Roberts helped establish finance offices in Iraq and managed accounts for the Department of Treasury and Federal Reserve Bank. After her discharge, Roberts worked with companies to create employment opportunities for Veterans.

Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Army Veteran Gregory D. Gadson, who served seven years after an IED blast nearly killed him in Iraq.

Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Army Veteran Dave Pickerell. Dave was master distiller at Makers Mark and Whistle Pig. He passed away in November.

VA's National Cemetery Administration welcomed two cadets from the United States Military Academy at West Point this summer who will assist cemetery directors in service and outreach programs that connect Veteran legacy in the cemeteries with the community.
